Hi
Does anyone know a good garage with a rolling road in portsmouth (ish) that would be able to look at my over fueling (maybe remap my chip) and also set up my avcr while they are there. I want to make sure they know what they are doing with a 200sx before I waste my money.
The avcr is all in just need a bit of vac hose, wire for the rmp looking at and then just setting up in learn mode to my car.
Thanks
Hi stuey, Not sure about Portsmouth, but Tuning Japansese is in Aldershot...

I might look them up and see what they could do. I have just checked my timing and it was 2-3 degrees out so I am hoping that was causing my overfueling.
Gimme a shout when your heading over mate. Always enjoy hearing a car get mapped :D

Even with the timing set again it still sounds like naval gunfire when I come off the throttle.
Has anyone used a company called reworx in hilsea I just spoke to the guy on the phone he seems to know what he is talking about even though he is a rx7 specialist
Tuning Japanese are robbing cnuts. Charge the Earth, Poor service and rude to boot.imho
They charged a mate a few years ago £10000 to build/map his scooby and it wasnt right, they told him to FRO when he complained in a civil manner.
AFTER SPENDING 10K for 320bhp:annoyed:
They mapped another mates car who got it re mapped as it wasnt pulling the power they claimed and was lumpy as a lumpy thing it gain a massive amount and pulled like a train.
They had my best mates car in for a day to do 3 guages 2 lots of studs on the wheels and map the AVCR.
They charged him a days labour @ £60 per hour but couldnt map it as the mapper was of that day, Not only was this booked a month in advance so the mapper should of been there but HE WAS THERE. Tim reconised my voice and cheerely said hello.
Then Another very well respected tuner fitted a de cat and down pipe on sys 200sx and it tripped the boost controller to saftey.
They asked where it was fitted as he needed the unlock codes.
When told it was Tuning Japanese he explained how he had gone to court with a customer to show how they had blown up his customers engine.
He then told us of a few more storys and said TJ wont let him have the unlock codes (which they didnt) so we had to drive to Aldershote from near Gloucester/Swindon to get unlock codes that were already his:annoyed:
Ike almost got a free punch in the head as he was very rude about Sy going to one of the best tuners in the UK until I told him to STFU and just give him the code.
People have good and bad experiances from tuners but EVERYONE ive known has had a problem with high bills for little work and poor service from TJ and im sure a search will reveal some more:nod:
My opinion from knowing them for 5 years:thumbs:

Mapped my mates rx7 and fitted a v Mount + Motec LC. His is bullet proof and pulls like a Euro fighter.
Its got to be 500bhp+:smitten:
From what ive seen very good:thumbs:
From all the research i have done and friends experiance i wouldn't trust Tuning Japanese to change the air filter on a Micra.
I stated a thread on it a while ago.........
Won't be recommending Tuning Japanese then :D
here you go, one of my first posts....lol

I think I made my views on them known in the recommended garages thread... I'd never use them - if you are going to drive up to aldershot you are better off coming up the a34 to see Jez, or going down to PTS...

Lol remmember that thread with the mighty Beavertron:D
RE Worx are good fellas. Helped me out with my micra a few years ago, and have build mosy of my mate scotts RX7 and Supra TT. RX is running over 700bhp reliable, and the Supra close to 1000bhp, so i would say yeh, good fellas!

Took mine to Tuning Japanese a couple of years ago - they charged me over a grand for a full service and tubby gasket replacement.
Yes I know I should have done it myself but at the time it was my daily driver...
Oh but for that they also stuck it on the dyno. 278bhp at the fly. 2 months later took it to Surrey Rolling Road and Charlie told me it was b*llocks, and dyno'd it properly at 254bhp.
Was not impressed with them!!
rising sun performance are in alton. ive never used them but its close. there is a rolling road tuner in portsmouth. my mate uses them for revo tuning. ill find out the name.
Another person worth giving a try if your prepared to travel is steve sadler he,s done mine and a few others on here and he knows 200s inside out and road maps his cars check his site in my sig.
Triton Motorsport here in Bournemouth have a good RR and are highly recommended in this area - mainly for scoobies and evos. Maybe a bit far for you tho! (They have a website btw). DJCC use them regularly as well.
