Had to post !!!

Just watched Clarkson launch a Sunny from a catapult :D LMAO

Although I have no interest in owning a Sunny , I have grown fond of the NISSAN marque

The dying shot was of the NISSAN badge :(

Sad moment :(

Enjoyable moment though :D

I've often wondered if Clarkson has taken backhanders in his time to promote some cars and shit on others. its like the eternal battle of the family saloons- he loves mondeos and hates vectras yet their virtually identical in performance, shape, economy price etc. do you think ford said heres 100K Jezzer now shit on the vauxhall......Hmmmmmmmmm:confused:

My dream car won the moral victory :)

Two tons of motor (Aston Martin Vantage) still gave the 911 a run for it's money, and as he stated, it had already trashed the Diablo :D

Oh! if only the lottery people were kind to me :(

No no no no no no no ...... Vectras ARE evil ....... they do not go around corners ... I have only ever come close to loosing my life a handfull of times in cars and ALL of them have been from the Vectra hire cars the handling is pure danglies...... that and the seats are soooooo poor, any long distance in a vectra leaves you crawling around on your knees for days afterwards.

Vectra .. EVILEVILEVILEVILEVILEVILEVILEVILEVILEVIL
Mondeo .. Mundano !

look at it this way:-

Ford Escort RS Cosworth
Vauxhall Astra GTE 16v

Admittedly I wouldn't really want a Cossie (unless it was given to me-they still sell for a good price! More mods;) ) But I have owned a GTE (I was young:rolleyes: ).

No competition.

Most new cars are as dull as dishwater, even Nissan are guilty.

Apart from the 350Z, obviously!

neither are exiting to drive, but the mondeo can outhandle the vectra by a considerable margin.
Paz's dad bought one along to the Staffs drift day and it was V surprising to see how well it went through a slalom circuit 5up :D

un momento

Did we not forget something, like the possibilty of 1350bhp.

Does ford have anything to compare with the R34, I think not....

Have to agree that the cosworths were good cars, but after all they were developed by Cosworth and not ford. So what we have to consider is say a mondeo ST24, XR3i......I rest my case. You didn't see nissan running off to another company and say please make this engine powerful.:D :D

The Cosworth was developed by Ford SVE (Special Vehicle Engineering), only the engine was developed (in partnership) with Cosworth which Ford have owned fully since July 1998

And to get that 1350bhp you quote, I'd say you'd have to run off to another company and say please make this engine powerful too! :D :D (Unless Nissan offer one straight off the factory  )

Having said that I'd still take an R34 over a Ford :D

Who started the whole Ford V Nissan argument? Nissan wins hands down. I thought it was a Ford V Vauxhall argument?
In a battle of the yawn-mobiles I'd pick Ford.

Nah - Vauxhall everytime.

Ford are just too poo for my liking.

Plus, you always count on Vauxhall to shoehorn some silly engine into their humdrum offerings:

1) Astra GTE / GSI - miles better than the MK 3,4,5 Escort Equivalent
2) Carlton GSI3000 - Granada Scorpio anyone?
3) Vectra GSI - still looks harder than a Mondeo
4) Calibra Turbo - erm, Probe or Cougar?
5) Cavalier Turbo - XR4x4 instead?

Lotus Carltons, Escort Cosworths, Sierra Cosworths excepted - limited run/out of house Homologation specials aren't these companies bread n butter.

I still say they're both poo. I used to have an Astra GTE 16v and it was the worse car I've ever had. And i've had some duff cars! Orion, Ibiza, Fiesta, Sierra (£80-I used this to learn how to drift - badly) and my first ever car, an Austin Ambassador *rotflmao* It's true, my Gran bought it for me when I was 17! (i'll get my coat).
I wouldn't mind a spin in a Lotus Carlton though. I used to work at Lotus and used to love watching the Carlton giving some serious sports cars a run for their money with a Camera man hanging out of the boot!

Give me a skyline anyday
