View Full Version : a bit of west country SXOC spirit needed :(

Good evening guys and girls of the west country, i need to call on a bit of SXOC spirit here :sxoc:

ive just taken my primera GT for its MOT and its failed.

it needs : -
new disks pads front and rear
new disks and pads front
new exhaust.

ive bought all of these already and knew about them they just didnt arrive in time.

what i also need, which has thrown me, are 2 new rear calipers or to re-build my own and i havent got a clue about this!

im aware there are re-build kits but dont know how to re-build calipers.

i am willing to part with beer tokens for any help and can supply food of various types and endless beer for anyone that can lend a hand :thumbs::sxoc:

its a car to tide me over until i can afford an sx again :(

if i pay a man at a garage it will be longer before im back in the fold.

to be honest all i need help with is re-building the calipers - name your price if you can do that for me :thumbs:

Did they say what was actually wrong with the calipers? Are they seized? Personally I think you best bet is to find some second hand ones. Theres alot of scrap websites online that can source them for you. If can source all the parts and get the car to frome then I can fit it all for you.

i could get the parts , but the car has no MOT. if you could book it in for an MOT there ;) i can legally drive it there :)

do you know how to re-build calipers? - i can get them @ £75 each on an exchange basis from brakeparts.co.uk hopefully i can get some cheaper though!

give 'starlet turbo' a message, he's rebuilt his AFAIK and can do pretty much anything with anything anyways, so if he hasnt then he'll still somehow know how to do it.

Rebuilding them ain't that hard tbh, have a look in the S14 tech section, guide is on 200 calipers, but might help. :thumbs:

the calipers on his s14, he's not dull enough to have a primera :P
