My S14a has collected a number of dents and scuffs - local Nissan dealer says minumum of £1000 to fix properly in a bodyshop.

I have a comprehensive policy, £300 excess and protected 6 year no claims - and I haven't used up any of the 'lives' on the protection.

Since the insurer won't be able to recover costs, if I claim what's the chance that they will either refuse to renew or find some other way of screwing me by raising the premium sky high, even though my NC is protected?

After having rung DentDevil and Trimline, I reckon at least one of the dents is too severe for them to tackle:(

Are these scuffs and dents spread around due to a number of different incidents?

If so, I would have thought that your insurance would consider each dent or scuff to be a separate incident and charge the excess on each one thus making it uneconomical. Maybe not though.

A yeah, collected over the last 18 months. I'll just have to claim that some daft old git kept hitting my car in Tescos car-park and got the driver's door, the sill on the passenger side and the rear bumper;)
