Some of you may know that I have a half stake in a S12 Silvia 1.8 turbo. Cracking little car, cost £100, and has seen a few chap mods like the std S13 intercooler, straight through zorst and a boost tweek to run 1.2bar http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif
Anyways, after giving it a right stonking Tuesday, the turbo began to make a very funny noise, a whistling like a siren, and then a worrying grinding noise. Well, the car came out last night, and whilst racing a motorbike at 135mph it suddenly lost power, chucked a load of black smoke out the back, and lost ALL boost.
Turns out, the turbo is no longer working - AT ALL. I recon the shaft has been completly destroyed due to oil starvation, hence the grinding and whistling (suppose 1.2bar hasnt helped either http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif)
So, my old T25 is going on over the weekend http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif with anyluck we can kill the engine as well http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/rolleyes.gif, still, its very quick when its running, its an old "C" regger, looks tatty, but boy does it move, really surprises some people.
