no doubt some of these will change between now and March, but there is some interesting reading

Sporting regulations (http://argent.fia.com/web/fia-public.nsf/9C6EAE7D21A3E635C12573B40054FCED/$FILE/2008%20F1%20Sporting%20Regulations%2014-12-2007.pdf?Openelement)

Technical Regulations (http://argent.fia.com/web/fia-public.nsf/8EF6904A1B580E74C12573B400548207/$FILE/1-2008%20F1%20TECHNICAL%20REGULATIONS%2014-12-2007.pdf?Openelement)

apart from what we already new (TC ban and one ECU for all) this one about the garboxes looks interesting

Each driver may use no more than one gearbox for four consecutive Events in which his team
competes. Should a driver use a replacement gearbox he will drop five places on the starting grid at
that Event each time a further gearbox is used.

5.1.4 forbids supercharging, but no mention of turbos!

5.6.3 they aren't allowed variable timing - ehh?

9.8.1 no LSD either

All teams except McLaren can use CO2 in their tyres

IIRC anything forced induction is a supercharger, just that exhaust gas driven superchargers are known by common folk as 'turbos' :)

so why not call it forced induction? dohhh

I thought they rebuilt the boxes for each race with different ratios to suit the track.

4 Races isn't exactly an easy going is it? The amount of abuse they get surely knackers them out quick?

Spot on, what we call a Turbo is a Turbo-Supercharger. Supercharging and forced induction are one and the same.

yep, its goingo t be a tricky best suited guess

Some interesting stuff, i like the addendum to 16.3 which was presumably added after Mr Brawns genius move with Schumacher.

Anyone know what 27.1 is all about?

Supercharging :
Increasing the weight of the charge of the fuel/air mixture in the combustion chamber (over the weight
induced by normal atmospheric pressure, ram effect and dynamic effects in the intake and/or exhaust
system) by any means whatsoever. The injection of fuel under pressure is not considered to be
supercharging.

9.8.1 no LSD either

Still have LSD's but none that are tourque biasing, ala Quaiffe.

I would think that is to prevent WiFi type connections to the pits.

1 gearbox to last 4 races rule.

no mention of changing the rear diff ratio to compensate for circuit differences ;)

e.g. Monaco May 25th (very short straights & low top-speed & high downforce) and then they travel to the next race in Montreal,Canada (long straights with high top speeds & low downforce) :)
