Well I know theres half a dozen people on here looking at this event
Unfortunatly the "final" also clashes with the final of UK TA :annoyed:
But the oportunity to race at Zaandvoort is still very welcome :D
Time Attack,
What is it? Well we don't need to tell you what time attack is all about. Fast cars doing fast laps is the general idea. But there is far more then meets the eye. Time Attack is probably the most divers motorsport event one will ever visit. Where else can you find a similar group of like-minded performance enthousiasts driving cars in all makes and models at the same time? Time Attack is not just a way to prove who can go round a track the quickest, it is a way to meet like minded people from all over. And for companies it is the ultimate way to put their brand out there and show what their company is capable of.
In The Netherlands we also see a hightened interest in performance tuning and everything that goes with it. Time Attack is booming like we saw this last year. For the very first time we organised a Time Attack event in The Netherlands and what a success it was. Over 100 participants competed in three classes and they we're not fooling around. We saw various well know national professional drivers compete in their actual race car. And even the 'amateurs' came out with whopping results. For example, the average bhp per participant exceeded 350hp!
We saw practically every car you could imagine. From a 'simple' VW Golf I to the awesome Porsche Carrera GT, from Nissan Skyline to Toyota Supra, from Dodge Viper to Super7. You name it and it was there. Even Michael Duchting turned up in his Donkertvoort which once broke the laptime on the Nurburgring.
This year we will do it all over again, but naturally we will do it bigger, better and faster. The two most well-known racetracks in The Netherlands will be the décor for this years Time Attack. We will kick off at Circuit Zandvoort with the eliminations on June 8th. The once who prove to belong in the finals will get their opportunity to compete against the best amongst eachother at the TT Circuit Assen 12 october.
Drivers will compete in four classes:
- Semi Pro Street: unexperienced drivers with roadlegal cars
- Pro Street: experienced drivers (in possession of a racing license) with roadlegal cars
- Pro Non-Street: experienced and pro drivers (in possession of a racing license) with non-roadlegal cars
- Small Factory: especially for cars with have a limited production quantity per year
