Yak, we've just had the wettest summer on record yet only one round saw rain this year (the scottish one oddly enough) :wack:
The only way to make sure it rains is to turn up without any wet tyres :D

Oulton Park at last
Will be aiming to get to most of them again, great day out. :)

have they confirmed the drivers yet?
any more info for use yet sm? i know the rules and regs are due out very soon
Everything I know is now out in public anyway.
Everything I know is now out in public anyway.
OK, I know more
2007 series entrants will get an e-mail tonight, and the option to pay - first in first served for slots.
2007 single entries will get a mail on monday, they get next shot at the entry.
Week after the entry will open to others.
Same classes as last year.
Club saftey equipment now includes suit, gloves etc
Club "flying lap" replaced by Pro style session - best lap time in the session counts.
Theres other stuff - but Maybe Yak will post his PDF that will arrive in his inbox around 10pm tonight.
Can't post all the info Ive got... But the 2008 rule and reg are out on that TA website :D
http://www.timeattack.co.uk/rules.asp
From the 70 club entries it looks like its going to be touch to get into the top 20 to get in the SuperBattle Final
Still there doesn't seem anything to much of a surprise in the technical bar the OEM body work (except bonnet and boot). make you wander if my splitter / super canards had anything to do with that being brought in
marty_t3

bar the OEM body work
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
Well
9.1 Bonnet and bootlid may be replaced by alternative material. Doors may be replaced for lightweight items ONLY if a rollcage and doorbars are fitted – Other bodywork to remain as OEM supplied unless approved by Time Attack technical.
2007 Regs, Point 3.18:
Bonnet and bootlid may be replaced by alternative material. Doors may be replaced for lightweight items ONLY if a rollcage and doorbars are fitted – Other bodywork to remain as OEM supplied unless approved by Time Attack technical.
exactly the same
oh... Ooops! LOL
Well they didnt throw me out for my extra bits at the last round...

Did that lot help at all?
It helped... in getting at lot of attention
I couldn't say if it did or not but I certainly didn't suffer from much under steer... until that tyre delaminated on me :wack:
Did that lot help at all?
jez did you ever see my little canards? these made a differeance to my car  get a little bit better turn in on mid to high speed corners.
body work wise i better check that my fpr front, rear wings will be ok using charge speed ones
11.2 When driving for a fast timed lap your headlights MUST be on, this helps marshalls wave a blue flag to the driver in front of you n also warns the driver that you are approaching at a fast timed lap pace.
this is not going to help us s13 lot is it! :(
5.1 TOYO tyres are the only manufactured tyre that is eligible for competitor use in the 2008 Series and all TOYO tyres used must be purchased through the appropriate TOYO appointed dealership.
So R888s?
yeah im running R888 for dry and t1r's for wet. the t1r's are also my daily used tyre lol

christ on a bike! the headlight thing will murder s13 aero :(
oem bodywork....does that include wings, bumpers, sideskirts etc?
I think having some bright lights at the front would be ok rather than using the road head lights... but would have to ask about that.
As pointed out the OEM bodywork rule was in last years regs... but there were plenty of car there with kits / not stock bodys parts so need some clarification on that.
Im guessing there are trying to outlaw cars like that lotus that whole back end was made out of carbon fibre!
Well

well i have e-mailed them about my fpr chargespeed wings and body kit now so will have to see what comes back

lol your face when i told you that I could here it from track side.
Do we have a list off 200sx that are competing in this?
I think the list is
SM (S13 - with maybe a little more pace)
Yak (S13 - with added chunks of power)
Jez (S13 / SR)
Bren (In the S14a I hope)
Nismo Pete (DCMS Sponsored 400bhp+ S14, Giblets old one)
There will also be the RC S14a with GT35R I suspect, as per last couple of years, and a low-spec S13 by team "le nads" who I think will be registering here shortly
and me :)
anyone confirmed is what i ment.:)
Brens car hasnt really progressed that ive seen and Jez is waiting for someone to file a sr20 head using a bannana as the file:rolleyes::D
pmsl
no one is yet i think, i believe last years drives have the 1st chance to order and pay up the fee and then its onto people like myself.

A pair of torches sellotaped to the dash should do the trick :wack:
lol
well the scrutineer has just got back to me about my body work and its fine :)
New TA Club reg from the website...
2.2 All fuel, nitrous or any other liquid or gas filled lines or pipes must be securely fastened every 200mm throughout its length.
9.1 All body panels may be replaced by carbon fibre or grp.
9.4 All doors, bootlids, bonnets and exterior openings must be serviceable from the outside and the interior bonnet/boot release must be removed or disabled and all door handles and locking systems must be available from the exterior.
9.14 Glass sunroofs should be replaced or covered with film or tape.
10.5 Vehicles must have an FIA approved racing seat and slide/mounting for the driver.
10.6 A passenger seat must also be securely fitted and must have a minimum four point harness attached, although a five point is recommended. If the standard passenger seat cannot accommodate a four point harness then an FIA seat must be fitted as per the driver. NOTE: there are two exceptions to this ruling: 1. Vehicles having only two front passenger seats (ie. Lotus Exige) are exempt from this ruling but must have an item installed in the passenger compartment that could not be installed elsewhere on
the vehicle. 2. Vehicles with more than two seats that require an item to be installed within the front passenger compartment must contact Time Attack technical for installation clarification.
10.7 Harnesses’s should not be bolted to seat mounts or use the same bolts.
10.8 An approved safety harness must be used for the driver, with a minimum of four fixing points, although five is recommended, and comply to SFI regulations or above and must be securely attached to vehicles body and or roll cage for the drivers seat. The straps from the shoulders should be mounted as near to horizontal as possible (see Fig 5. below) – not on the floor immediately behind the seat and fixed using a minimum of four
8mm bolts (ISO 8.8 or better) and 5 square inch spreader plates. These harness regulations apply to the passenger seat as well except in the case that only a four point harness is required, although a five point harness is recommended.
Actually some of them are previous changes from last year but are now more important with the new amendments.
Any idea why we have to have a passenger seat?
SMs idea was they want to keep them looking like road cars... mine is they want us to give passenger rides some time :wack:
Is the rule change the same in pro?
Yeah, think so...
Annoying rule - means I've got to re-fit the seat...
Yeah, and i will not have (well mostly nicked my other people) some where comfy to sit in the pits this year!
i got a nice seat fitted all ready :P
well im all payed up :) ta08 here i come

yes you can - they do not have to be the OEM headlights
and yes the passenger seat rule is to keep the street look

fia passenger seat is annoying :(
also wy does the driver seat have to have a slide? most bucket seats come with fixed brackets :)
also wy does the driver seat have to have a slide? most bucket seats come with fixed brackets :)
I guess so the car can be recovered in case of an accident. If they are fixed, marshalls taller/shorter than the driver may not be able to get behind the wheel perhaps?

it would be annoying...... but as its not the case it isnt annoying:) A passenger seat must be fitted and a 4 point harness - the only time its mandatory to have a fia seat is if you cannot use a harness with the seat.
the requirement is for an approved slide/mounting ........ a slide OR a mounting not a slidemounting so a fia fixed seat mount is ok:thumbs:

what have you entered:rolleyes:
There are SO many punch lines you could add to that :p
Started off with Impreza, moved onto Skyline and has now moved on more, back to 200s! :D But you know me, could be in the Jag, or the Shogun, fook knows :wack: Might yet buy that Landy  Id kick your ass in it so it would be worth it :p
I cant get the S14a shell sorted in time but there are other ways I can use the pile of goodies Ive got sat around ;)

could you not put a std head on it with the cams to get entered and then add the good head when it shows up?
I'll probably do something like that. Just been a total ball ache :indiff:
Run the Evo, Im assuming its a similarish spec to our Impreza, we can at least race each other, just ignore everyone else :wack:

Ha ha - that'd be a laugh. Evo is pretty much standard apart from exhaust and filter - still not got round to remapping it
Im going to get anhialated in a straight line in the Impreza but Im going to have a go at showing some of the Club boys how to brake and corner. Ive booked Donny on 27th of Feb if you fancy coming for a play:

As we talked about impreza would be too expensive to bring up to spec, skyline is in EDC and your 200 is a long way off untill you get our arse in gear and sort it out.:D
Yeah but Ive entered in the Impreza anyway, itll be a bit of fun, until you, Yak and Sm lap me
Im looking at two drift Skylines in OZ with a potential view to bringing one of them over to run in EDC (ones got a twin turbo V8) so freeing up my Skyline for me to use with the RB25 and all ther goodies Ive already got for it.
But then ideas moved onto just buying an S13 or S14 shell and throwing the Tomei engine etc into it to get a working car. I dont have time to do the current S14 shell befire TA this year, it still needs a lot of work as I refuse to cut any corners with it.
Wouldnt be so much work to just run standard loom etc with a complete 200 shell. Just throw in the goodies, rip out the interior, slap on some paint and off we go
Failing all that Ill just run the Scooby, Im sure I can make it wide enough to let me match your lap times :p Either way Im in  :D
Stick with the 200.
There should be loads of 200 s14 shells out there:)
Looks like a potential change of plan (whod have though it!), we might now build a complete new top end drift S14a from scratch and Ill run the Skyline in TA.

yeah thats ture... you have already had a few e-mails from me about mine
so we have afew 200sx in ta then
Damo_s13 = 400hp s13
nismo pete = s14 400hp???
yak = s13 400hp???
bren in an Impreza or Skyline or 200sx :wack:
and hopfully
sm = 400hp per tone
jez = s13 600hp
thats list is looking good and im hoping we will all be compantative (sp sorry)
Yaks car will have same power as mine
brens plans change by the day, but he is entered and paid!
but he is entered and paid!
Is that his new profession:confused::D
Since I last posted on here Ive changed my mind not only once but twice!
We are now onto plan 468

i think you should stop all this planning and just buy a evo!!!:D:D
i think you should stop all this planning and just buy a evo!!!:D:D
pmsl
bren you change your mind more than i do and im just nuts :D
I know I know, Im really poor at making a decision and sticking to it
lol i keep changing mine due to me sort cash out for it some how and then so to keep my car to a spec that gives me half a chance if i have the driving ability to keep up with the other 200's in ta :censored: im doomed :wack:
I keep trying decide between the cheapest route, the most effective route, the most sensible route, the route that takes the least time etc.
Ive got to sort two cars, one very highly competitive full on EDC spec car thats going to be REALIABLE and something for me to drive.
We have the Skyline which as a rolling chassis is pretty much ready for TA or drift but Im not keen on running the RB in drifting, we have the S14 monster shell which I dont have time to prep before the competition starts, ive got the entire RB25 power set up and Ive got all the goodies from our monster.
Out of that pile of bits I have to produce two top end cars that will be competitive and reliable in just 2.5 months spending the absolute minimum amount of money along the way.
2 full on comp cars and not spending money just doesnt work
yeah i can only try to comprehend your problems bren. i've had to some how dubble my budget for my car im so poor now :( anyway to change the subject before i start to
i really cant wait for my car to be finished so i can get some seat time :D hopefully end of feb ish :wack:
I havent bothered setting a budget :wack:
Im goig to see a potential new engine for the Skyline today, should be interesting if we go for it

Are you using the evo and is it in clubman our Pro?
yes we are still getting bits ready but should be in pro section
cool nice one gary,
how is every one doing on getting there car ready for the 1st race? im guessing that my s13 will be drivable around the 17th march dont leave much time for running in and mapping :(
1x bare S14a shell and a pile of bits
1x nearly bare Skyline, a brand new completely different one off custom engine and gearbox install to do and a pile of bits
Going well so far
:wack:
shit but i new you had a very big task on your hands then help out yak and kev to
Oh yeah, and Ive got to help sort Yak and SM out :D
Oh its going to be a busy two months.
Im going to pay a despoit on the Skylines new engine later today and pick up a dummy block, crank etc so we can start the dummy install.
The S14a Tomei engine, T78 etc is going down to Norris Designs in a couple of weeks for a dyno map and to see how laggy the stupid size turbo will be :wack:
Thats going to be interesting:nod: Get a vid up buddy.
Dont try to over stretch and end up with 2 incompleate cars:(
Good luck:thumbs:
Gary what power is your evo going to be running?
Any links to a project page?
I dont have time to do the work so Ive Gary working on the S14 and Richard Henry Motorsport working on the Skyline.
The Skylines a pretty well developed working basic chassis, it just need the engine install sorting, engine back out, body kit fitting, painting inside and out and then engine and running gear refitting. Plus a 2 way diff installing. other than that its not really that far off. The Skyliens getting a racing small block Chevy lump. 530bhp, 470lb/ft. No fuel injection, no turbo, no supercharger, nothing. Just a big fook off engine. It will even have a mechanical fuel pump! It is a high spec engine though, built for racing and complete with dry sump system
The S14 has complete front and rear subframes all sorted, the shells prepped bar paint, the engine, clutch, turbo, plenum, fuel system, gearbox, management is nearly ready to go.
The shell is the sticking point, it needs paint inside, underneath, in the boot and engine bay so Gary can start building the car up. The engine will be ready to drop in and turn key in just over week if the T78 is usable. If its not then it will be another few weeks whilst we sort another turbo kit. If it come to it then Ill run the car at the first event with the T78 and just be fooking fast down the straights when it eventually comes on boost but try to be as wide as possible on corner exits :D
not to bad then :wack: lol at use of T78 for 1st race
Might need some clthes peggs to hold your face on in any of those cars down the straights.
Was this the v8 Skyline you were getting from oz?
Again need a vid of that:D
We gave up on importing one as we already had two shells so it makes more sense to use what we have :)
I will have dyno footage or the V8 and the Tomei lumps soonish, both are being sorted on dynos rather than in car.
 cant wait to see them
Got my 13 working again :D
Unfortunately with the old engine, not the new one... in fact still with the old everything :wack:
Well not quite true but basically not started yet
Hell yeah! thats just ture yak style yo!!!!!! :wack:
you will prob do all the work in the weekend before the 1st race
The S14s shells is now booked in for paint next Thursday

At brands last year it was still up on axle stands at Marty's at 3am... and then rolling through the gates at Brands hatch at 7am :D
I was hoping to be a better this year.

We're not exactly of to the best of starts :wack:
oh dear lol im sure you can get it sorted tho yat/marty_t3 :whip:
Hey, at least its now mobile again... so we can rip it apart again :wack:
First time you go out with full power youre just going to be doing lots and lots of this:

I know. That is what is kinda scaring me as Im heading towards less and less time to relearn how to drive the car
Should be pretty funny to listen to the video afterwards :D
How do you think Im going to feel with a 2.2 and a T78, brand new suspension set up and wierd gearbox etc. Complete brand spanking new car but with a stupid great turbo! Now that will be fun! :D

yeah very well
jobs to do
fit front extinguisher pipe and jets
make and fit front splitter
fit tow straps front and rear
set up coilovers, corner weights and alignment
then get on test day with bren, yak and sm!!!
The Skylines gearbox and clutch assembly is sorted, V8 engines fitted, interiors been gutted, fuel system sorted, dry sump system sorted, interior and exterior of shell painted, props been custom made and fitted, wiring looms half sorted, perspex windows sorted, exhaust system being fabricated right now, carbon bonnet and boot waiting to be fitted etc.
The Skyline should be ready.
I dont know where the S14s at, Gary? Christian said they were on with the fuel system yesterday. I will have everything I need for the engine to be dynoed on Tuesday.
The Subaru hasnt been touched in terms of TA prep, nothings been done to it so far.
Ive got my car back to work on :)
Currently it has no brakes, suspension or diff / sub frame fitted to it :( but brakes and suspension bits sat waiting to go on :)
Engine is still at away being mapped and I don't think its fired up once yet
Gearbox and diff are also away being built up but I do have a clutch :)
Did start making a list of stuff to do... but ran out of white board space :wack:
SMs had a good idea, if the Skyline stays in one piece during EDC on Sat then Ill use it for TA on Sunday, it will be far far far quicker than the Impreza

Finally got the car back from the cage manufactures protection and performance, only took 3 weeks:rolleyes: but it does look sweet, the quality really is amazing.
Next problem is now the seat dosent fit my head is touching the cage so graham is having to make a custom subframe and sit it vertually on the floor.
S15 diff to fit and a few other bits like fire extinguisher system, carbon doors dash and all wiring to sort out.:D

I'll be ready by next Friday.
New cams arrived today, PPG gearset and mainshaft has arrived, but needs building, new flywheel is here, I'm down at APT on Tuesday ......
DCMS are sorting my manifold(s) as it was blowing again ...
And I'm about half way through re-enforcing the front bumper and the way it mounts/moves around so that it wont fall off at speed, just about kept it on at Oulton Park last week ...

hmm thanks for the offer would add another 2hours to my journey time though, im trying to persuade my mate to come with me if he says yeah and i could have both tickets it would probably make it worth it saving 30pound in total, just got to pop to my brothers house (more driving ) then ill call my friend to see if he is going then ill let you know
thanks again for the offer though even if i dont take you up on it :)
doh damo your not having much luck with that car of late!
I had a bit of a scare yesterday when it would not start to put it on the trailer! Turns out the battery was too low to power the vems so it fired up when jumped at knockhill :)
Getting it on the trailer on my own was fun though!
So far in the practice today the car went well bar i still not get the vems to control boost. It will work the unit but in begining to think there are no 1.8 bar settings in the ecu :(
apart from that the car has been fine. Managed to catch some air going through duffers dip a couple of times :D
That and my trooper i bought off ebay 3 days ago has towed me and the 13 up here with out any probs... So far
Here are short vids from silverstone.
Practise.
<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/YJN_Ie80CNM"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/YJN_Ie80CNM" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
Went out for a few laps to warm my tyres up and try and find space (which was hard). Did one flying lap and it started to miss fire. Then at the end it stalls going in to copes! With no power steering or servo Im glad that have tarmacked that area for the F1 cars :D
Qualifying 1st try
<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/-76_KR9ONyo"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/-76_KR9ONyo" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
I knew I only had a limited time to try and get a lap in before what ever is causing the issue over heated and the miss firing would start again. Unfortunately I didnt really get a clean lap in before it started missing and I fell off at copse again :E
Qualifying 2nd try
<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/JFJ8F2gCGb4"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/JFJ8F2gCGb4" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
After my Friends did the fastest plug swap Ive ever seem I went out again to see if that had fixed the issue and get a run in... but after a 2 laps the miss fire was back and I called it a day. :(
I thought that the timing system was missing me but looking back at the vids I only ever do 5 full laps in practise and qualifying. Of them only one was a flying lap which I end up drifting around Luffield. Did a 1:07.7 on that lap but there was plenty more to shave of that.
Who is actually competing in the Oulton Park round?
If I have this correct :-
Bren's car is in the Canaries
SM's engien is in bits
Yak is ill
Damo - are you competing?
Nismo Pete - believe you are competing?
Anyone else I have missed off?
Bren is racing the Subaru
I'll be ready
Yak will make it I'm sure
Damo will be there
Pete is ready too
I'm getting worried now. From what I though was a sore throat that would sort it self out in a few days seems to have turned in to a fairly heavy duty infection!
So angry at my self for not going to the docs before as am on the mend now but don't know if I'm going to be in a state i can competing by Sunday. :(

I was very ill in January, temp touching 39C, and a few days on pure penicillin made the world of difference.
Try some Ibuprofen as well, should help with temp and is also an anti-inflammatory. Perhaps get Dr Bob to give you a shot of something from the secret cupboard. :)
Is it! Oh shit thats a day les to try and recover. fcuk :(
yeah its sat.... im up and running just needs mapping which should be tomorrow all going well (touch wood)

Ha ha! Touche!! :D
Are you competing?
Not this year - unless I can blag my way into one of the final rounds...
I cant see it being to hard to blag a Pro slot at one of the last rounds... You'll be able to pick up your medel your self then ;)
im not going to be there....
jez stop wasting time on here and go for a drive the the s13 :whip: you still got a few miles to do!!
There will be quite a few of us SXOCers on the Zero 260 stand in the paddock area just next ot the pit garages (see the thread in NW), so if you need any support, have wrist bands spare for pit garage access, want any help taking the mick out of Bren for driving a :ghey: 4wd tractor etc, please let us know.
