View Full Version : Alonso Runs back to Renault
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/7136498.stm
hahahahahahahahaha couldnt take the pressure of being raced hard by your team mate, and after saying last year that McLaren were a better option than renault,
he changes his colours faster than alan Ball
Getting paid 50m a season though apparently
Getting paid 50m a season though apparently
the most ive seen is this
Renault would not confirm the length or value of the contract, although there are reports Alonso will earn £25.2m.
and thats total for 3 seasons, so just over 8million a season, more than McLaren paid him IIRC
lol, bloody media sites. This is where i read it....
while Alonso's initially two-year contract - estimated at $50m per season - will assign him minimal sponsor commitments, contain an 'exit' clause, as well as clear number one status.
From F1-Live.
Thats weakling dollars :)
Dunc.

The Renault team have confirmed Fernando Alonso and Nelsinho Piquet as their racing drivers for the 2008 season.
I am more perplexed by Piquet. I thought Kovalinen was showing promise towards the end of the season. Perhaps he is ok with playing second fiddle to Hamilton and taking the free seat at Mac and being payed pennies.
I read it was £70 mil for a 3 year deal but has a get out clause after 12 months if things aren't going well
Excellent .. With a decent proven driver that has worked well with that team before, hopefully will Make Renault Competative next year .... would be nice to have 3 manufacturers battling out for it.
Ferrari will have to come up with a pure genius way of cheating next year to keep winning
dont worry about the Spantard, he will get his arse kicked by his team mate in 08, and for 2009 will be asking for the team tea lady to be his team mate to ensure he gets a harmonius environment within the team...

Well theres a shock...not...
Wonder what toys he will have left to chuck out of the pram if he makes an arse of next season....
Wonder who will be at McCopy with Lewis?

Michael Schumacher
Wouldnt that be fun lol :)

Finn Heikki Kovalainen, who had an impressive rookie season with Renault in 2007, is expected to move to either McLaren, where he would partner Lewis Hamilton, or Toyota.
:p

Meh another renault cast off ;) Lets hope Kovalainen doenst have the same mentality.
Should be one of the Brit drivers to partner Lewis though, imho :wack:
Cant help thinking Alonso waited til the outcome of the Renault spying case before commiting and also looks like Kovelinen was dropped as he'd be too competitve with alonso.
Slightly off topic but....
Whats the 08 car looking like James? Are you restricted by the new Feb 14th date for the FIA clearing your design?

Anyone else notice the shit slanging match thats going on between Mosley and Brundle, FIA are to take legal action because Martin said some bad things and Max got upset :clap::clap::clap::clap::clap:

Unfortunatly you cant wait for the outcome of Feb 14th as there is no way to get a car ready that quickly in the month before Melbourne. The cars are being made now and we will just have to see what the FIA say and change parts accordingly or miss races if needs be i suppose.
The thing that sucks is that the FIA were at work looking at all the info weeks ago so they have had over a month to make a decision (plenty of time), in my opinion they are just making things difficult again:(
lol, not allowed to tell you what the car looks like im afraid :p;)
lol, not allowed to tell you what the car looks like im afraid :p;)
i can
4 wheels, engine behine the driver, front and rear wings, some electronics that dont resemble TC but some how helps the car in corner stability:p 2 air pods either side the driver

Awesome lol
I would PMSL if Piquet beats him in the first race :D

Ah, did you not see his dad Nelson at pretty much every race and hear him at every opertunity say he was trying to get his son a drive?

I thought that too, another underhand way to help Ferrari and friends.
lol, not allowed to tell you what the car looks like im afraid :p;)
Wont it be red with a prancing horse on the front?:p
Im guessing the standard ECU means you have no easy way to introduce TC to that car?
Dunno but being Tag-Mclaren ECU opens a whole debate about fairness of the system and advantages being held by Watchmakers and a team that may or may not feild a red car with a prancing horse on teh front ;)

There are loads of arguments about the ecu at the moment, alot of teams are saying its too basic and its actually impeeding their cars development and limiting certain area's of performance.
As for the fairness issure there will allways be disagreements from people aimed at the team who makes it....lol
If they are to map the ecu themselves they are at a disadvantage as they may not fully understand the software or how it works, but if a person from Tag/Mclaren/Mercedes High Performance Engines does it, will they do it to the best of their abilities or just enough to cuase a disadvantage somewhere..........tricky subject.
There will be no prancing horses yo:whip::p
I am more perplexed by Piquet. From what I've read, Piquet Jr. is apparently outrageously talented and a hard driver in the Senna mould. Some have suggested he's faster than Hamilton.
Wouldn't it be amusing if Alonso was given another teammate who could match (or better) him? :D :D :D

So your not deneying they will be red?
Maybe the said horse is in the technical documentation, and you will put a Mincing Horse on the front instead? :ghey: :p

If Ferrari were capable of winning a fair fight, they'd not need this ridiculous level of protection from the FIA, and McLaren wouldn't have been to harshly and unjustly treated.
IMO ;)

Didnt look like that in last years GP2 - he may have come second to hamilton but he got his arse kicked.

I will ROFLOL if you are right mate, and I hope you are.
Autosport said that Renault had to drop Kovalainen because he would have posed to much of a threat to Flonso. He did pick up at the en of the season and beat Fisi. Fisi should consider packing it inn now.
lol, not allowed to tell you what the car looks like im afraid :p;)
More details for your 08 car hav been leaked today. It seems that there are 3 large scarlet coloured areas that are causing concern.
Care to tell us which bits maybe faux ferrari?
