If the government, with their red tape, decided to ban all Nissan 200SX's from the country, what would you go out and buy instead?

If not a direct replacement, what other cars would you consider buying? ie. vtec integra etc.

Like to know your oppinions on other low cost cool cars...

Depends on budget , i was just thinking what i would replace the 200 with.

I fancy a Porsche Carrera 4 and they are is just within the budget i could afford.

For a direct replacement to the 200 it's got to be the fiat 20v turbo coupe.

Two litre turbo, lots of tuning potential, similarly priced to a 200, ie. they lose lots of value for us to buy them at 3 or 4 years old.

There is also a good forum like we have ourselves, and they seem to be upto our tricks, eg. nicking FMIC from other cars :)

Only downsides are scrabble wagon, although they have a good lsd, and they have useable rear seats.

Oh, did I omit italian build quality. :D :D

Still, if you do independent tests like top gear did, then from a standing start to 100 the fiat is 3 secs quicker than an S14a.

(Oh, and its 5 secs quicker to 120) :eek:

However, to redeem itself the 200 did beat the fiat by 2 seconds round a test when Tiff took the cars out. As Tiff said, a performance car has to be RWD, and if you want a drivers car pick the 200 (over fiat, alfa gtv and prelude 2.2 vti also on test).

Surely, once you start serious tunning, there would be no competition in terms of potential between the two.
Dosent the standard fiat have about 50 hp more (as in those tests), and less Transmission losses.
Wouldnt imagine it would cope well with an extra 100hp or so through the front wheels!

Well..............would have to be a Tuscan Speed 12 me thinks just for the originality...

But it's not a TURBO.......so would have to be a Lambo I think...

simple ford capri 2.8 special 160 bhp and a v6 motor + rwd for 700 quid for a good un, spend the rest of the 3300 id get from selling the 200 on beer and fun......lovely.....
