View Full Version : SHINY Rocker Cover?
Not strictly an 'interior' topic, but...
still unsure what colour to paint the cover, however one thing i do know is that i may paint it a nice deep glossy black, but how do i get the shine? kinda like this -

I'm halfway through another cam cover at the moment. I was going to spray the next one and then cut it back the same as when repairing bodywork and then polish it.
erm.. wanna do another cover? :D

I have only just started this one and at the same time i am repairing/repainting a front bumper and a rear bumper so i don't have much room in the garage at the moment. My ETA ATM is to try to be finished on these parts before spring. Mind you i have had the rear bumper since January:wack:
its not really a major job, i just don't have the time... mind you, it'l probably be a few weeks before i even decide on a colour :wack:

haha, i've been spending ages trying to decide what colour to paint mine, still cant decide lol.
cant wait to paint mine and fit it but need a colour first.
i just did mine by degreasing and flatting it back and spraying with normal paint bout 1 hour max, flat it back spray it, let it dry, repeat 3/4 times let it dry over nite next to rad used touch up pen to do letters(that took as long as spraying it) bolt it back on job done:thumbs:

i'm just doing this to my s13
the previous owner had painted the cam cover bright green :ghey:
i'm struggeling to think of what colour to use i was thinkink back to red the way it should be or gold but im not sure about that
i'll get a pic up let you's see how it's looking just now
I painted it a dark browny bronze but wasnt happy and found a goldier colour and i think i'll stick with it, closest match i could find to the wheels :)

Just need the FMIC with shiny pipework in there, and get some high temp paint for the manifold heatshield to finish it all off :)
