Just out og curiosity, I called a company called Trident for a quote.

No mods declared, all convictions declared

£995 TPFT

I'm actually quite happy with that, last year they quoted me £1020, and flux beat that by £300.

So being banned, having a wopping fine and a load of points doesn't seem to make much difference. I will phone around for some more at the beginning of March :)

I don't think it'll be as easy as you think.

8 pence says that you've probably found your best quote aleady....

Vega, you might find insurance isn't too bad. I had a mate with an Esprit v8 twin turbo who had two bans in a year against his name for speeding, one of them a 3 month ban for 127mph.

When he came to renew his insurance it had dropped by about £500. The broker told him that insurance companies expect people to drive fast cars fast, and they where more interested in what they actually had to pay out.

As he had got 3 years claim free in a Lotus they where happy to insure him even if he drove fast because his chances of a claim where low.

Good luck.

I'm more than happy to pay 995 if it came to it anyway, so any quotes I may get that are better is just a bonus :)

Thats what credit cards are for, I was expecting 1500

I only pay £420 fully comp for my standard '91 200SX.
It's not garaged and I have an allegedly high risk job.

I do have a clean licence and no claims bonus though.

Is it because my car's only worth £2000 max?

Every year my insurance company tries it on and sens me a renewal for about £800 and I call them and they say "ooh, everyone's insurance has gone up"

Then I call ten brokers and get it down to under £500 and usually my original broker matches that.

Why won't they give us a decent quote without it taking 4 hours on the phone?

Cnuts.
