I am very jealous that you went to see the RAC. I always seem to have something else happening that weekend and never get to see. I have to make do with the DVD of it.

Do you ever go to the historic racing car show at Stoneleigh? Each year they have Slowly Sideways performing in everything from Fiat Abarths to Michelle Mouton (sp) in her Pikes Peak 800bhp Quattro! They always have a good selection of Escorts making that unmistakable 4pot noise.

is a very good rally, i went to the 2005 event and stayed in the scottish forests overnight near kielder and pundershaw. it was bloody freezing!!

stig blomquist was using a works mk2 and jimmy mcrae was in a 911, the stratos that perez was using packed up though so sadly we didnt get to see that :(

i really enjoyed it and would love to go again

yeah i was there down near the woodyard in dalby forest, you can't beat the sound of the escorts in the woods although the stratos does come close! followed them up to greystoke for the night stages, passed the yellow 911 on the a66 with the rear puncture smoking along in the inside lane! the rain was a bit of a disapointment but the sound of the cars in the dark flying down the big hill near the start more than made up for it! didn't see the stratos though and can't begin to imagine how the guys in the 911 were feeling when their spot lights went off on the second corner!! doh!

Spent 4hrs marshalling in Greystoke last night in the pi$$ing rain, hell was it wet  , had 1 or 2 close offs on junction 18 (square left with a big drop on the outside), thankfully no-one went off cos they would'nt of got back on again.
Went to Dumfries this morning for the 2nd run through the Heathhall stage and a wander round service, then to Carlisle for service.
My mate on his way to winning the clubman's event.

And a not very good one of Jimmy McRae's MK11 Escort, who's having a good battle with Banner in another MK11
