View Full Version : how much power can u get out of ur 200sx in gran turismo?
Just a little thought really - how much power have u squeezed out of ur 200(s13/14 sylvia or wotever they call it in the game)?I think one of my mates has taken his gran turismo s14 up to about 500 bhp?
Don't think I could get my Red S13 past about 369Bhp.. was gutted..
Mind you it seriously can't handle even that much grunt (in the game) :)

The quickest and best handling of the Silvias appears to be the JDM 2000cc s13 Silvia. It seems to beat much more powerful cars with a moderate hike in HP and some handling upgrades. Also provides some amusing tail slides and drifting antics with little provocation!!!:D
I found that anything past 450-500hp on the s14a makes it pretty useless as the rear wheels light up at the slightest hint of accelleration. You come out of a corner and have to be pointing straight ahead or the damn thing just wheelspins. Good fun but it won't win you much prize money and it ruins tyres!! ;)

The 1800 Silvia K's is my favourite starter car and I think that can be tuned up to about 500 bhp or something.
S13 1800 k's is definately the best drifter! I've got mine to 430ish and with the right set up it drifts perfectly:D
and has anyone noticed if you buy a new car and tune it fully before driving it the power will go up by 1hp after a race:confused:
Tends to go up a little bit after each race as it all wears in. Then you start losing power as the oil gets dirty!!! Power goes back up again when you change the oil.
Endurance races (where there's no chance to change the oil) often result in permanent power loss. I'm really upset my Zonda Race car ONLY has 1178bhp rather than the 1195bhp it did have!!!:eek: :eek: :mad: :p
Got a 450ishbhp S14a too. Good car!

Pick a track and a modified silvia/SX and see who can get the best time.....
My favorit is the S15 Räzo JGTC,over 500hp an the best grip you can get.:p :p

i've managed to get the 1750bhp pikes peak ( 800kg)!!
gets boring as can whoop anything
400kmph etc
who else has got the 200 in the same colour as there own car? (for dreaming purposes!)

Wanna race my 3200bhp Silvia Razo :D It has hit 1300+ mph down the straights while popping a wheelie. It runs the 400m in around 7 seconds. Its also AWD.

Favourites include Tom's Supra, Razo S15, Calsonic Skyline and of course the Zonda. Got nice Rx-7 set up as a drift car.
EDIT: Err this was replying to the post about having a 200 in the same colour as my own, not a response to challenging a ??????bhp Silvia. P.S. What cheat gets you this mad hp?

Cheats? ... its a simple motor swap my friend, with upgraded turbos, intercooler, etc. :D :p

i got 600-700bhp out of it..........i did spend around £100,000 on it though....LoL.
But after the bhp goes up you need to fiddle around with how the car is set up to get top speeds of over 300km/h. Best way to set up your car right is to do the run & settings in your garage. It works better if you fiddle with the gear ratio.

Anyone up for a challenge???
Got a few times for an S13 (modified of course to about 490hp) for Laguna Seca and Midfield both times done in the Run and Settings section. Both times have quite a bit of room for improvement.
I chose the Run and Settings tracks cuz it's less messing about to get your car set up and retry your run. I suggest splitting the cars into S13s - S14s for the moment.
S13 180sx and S13 Silvia
Laguna Seca : 1:25:507 (490hp 180sx)
Midfield : 1:14:950 (490hp 180sx)
I'll get some start off times for the S14s on the same tracks later.
also just out of interest what were say the first 5 cars you bought/won and what did you use each one for? mine were
beetle 2.0 - ff, beetle cup, sunday cup, clubman cup
beetle rsi - 4wd cup, some turbo races
evo vii gsr - evo cup, more turbo races
evo vi wrc - super speedway endurance
polyphony001 (f1 car:D ) - everything I could enter, 5360km so far
mid field - 1.12.593 180sx 463hp

Got a few S14 times... they're pretty much the same as the S13 times so i don't htink there's much point splitting them up.... It'll made a nice bit of competition between the S13 ans S14 guys :D

Do an oil change on the car right away... it puts the power up a little. I'll just double check while i go and try and beat your time again :D
I'll do that, I'm on 1.25.744 on laguna seca now. hopefully some more power will do the trick

when you do an oil change it gives 10bhp more. This doesn't works on the race cars you win or buy like the Calsonic Skyline, Team Oreca VIper GTS-R, CLK Touring Car (D2 AMG Mercedes)etc....

Yeah i've got TC and ASM both still turned on... the TC seems to slow the car down on the first corner on Midfield though.. goes round it quicker side ways :D
Got my midfield time down to 1:13:003.. still not bettered my Laguna time yet though... keep ending up in the bloody gravel trap on the last corner before the finishing straight :D

Well i do this too but everytime i slow down to get round it i loose waaaay too much power to get lower time!:mad:

oh... and my S13 is sitting at 484bhp right now
try altering the level of the TCS, if its only on level 1 or 2 it hardly affects acceleration, at least not as much as lighting up the back tyres does!
as for the last corner on laguna seca it has to be a second gear crawl until past the rubbing strip:( I make up time by not easing off on the left hander before you go uphill to the corkscrew;)
complex string - 4.49.381 and it wasn't pretty:o
I got 489hp after realising I hadn't done a port polish:o

1:23:716 on Laguna... helped when i realized i my gearing was too long.
Car is up to 490bhp again... must be run in :D time for another oil change :D
Got the camber set up right .... handling just right now :D

Built a CA powered S13 and I got the following:
483hp (0 miles on it)
Laguna Seca:
Average: 1.20.056
Best: 1.18.786
Sounds like some of you chaps need to brush up on suspension tuning hehe :D
My R33 GTR w/ 878hp ran a best of 1.15.732 on Laguna Seca
Fastest car in the game as far as technical handling tracks is the Z06. I ran a best of 1.14.989 on Laguna Seca with it.
Im not telling how I get the ultra powerful cars... when I bring my memory card with me to Billing I will show you guys some of the cars. heheh

Midfield-1'12.466.
That's with a 503hp s14, auto box and no tinkering with the suspension settings, just winding off the TC a bit.;)
Current specs
S13 1800 K's - 494hp
s13 2000 K's -464hp
RPS13 Type X - 463hp
s14a - 503hp
Has anyone got their sr20det in their s13's any higher? I am a bit puzzled why my s14 is 40hp more powerful than the s13's with identical engines and the ca18det gets another 30hp on them??????:confused: This is with everything bolted on.

Hours upon hours mate... I've got that car as tuned as it possibly can go. Keep at the suspension... you'll eventually get it tuned 100% with your driving style and ability. Also learn how to modulate brake and gas along with using the PS2s ability to variate the input via button pressure. It takes some skill and practice to do but you can give it near full throttle and gain speed without drifting around corners.

Nismo_freak won't tell us how to cheat eh. Well luckily I remember seeing GT Hybrids on the net for GT1 or 2.

Marty I used a CA powered Silvia for the 1.18 time.
My CA - S13 made 1.11.301 on Midfield
I dont seem to drive very well on that track.
My S14a made a 1.09.821 on Midfield after about 10 laps on it.
My R33 GTR made a 1.04.653 on Midfield, took me about 4 laps to get it dialed in.
These cars arent "cheat" cars... they are just highly tuned. I have nothing better to do other than tune them.
For comparison:
My "cheat" R33 GTR ran a 53.665 on Midfield... of course 8000+ hp has nothing to do with it :D
It hits 300+ mph down the straightaway heheh.

Now if I just knew what a sharkport database was and knew how to connect the PS2 to the PC I'd be right :confused:

the sharkport is used to connect ps2 to your pc to back-up memory cards. you can modify data stored on pc using software available on the link i added.
I think the sharkport needs a gameshark (cheat box thingy) to link to ps2.
not tested software but i've downloaded it and it loads up ok.
