Will let you know...
Id like a 330mm drilled a grooved pack with forodo DS2500's please
Actually what advantages will I see with a 345mm kit??
Might aswell go for that if its alot better for £30!
registering interest if it gets to 10+ above orders... 315mm plain

If the rears come into this, i'll probably partake, much to the distress of my better half.
My holiday is now over and done with, so i'll have the spare time to do some posting and paying for stuff ;) Thanks for your patients Dan
Hi Dan,
What make are the plain 315mm discs?

Brembo or Zimmerman's :)
I'll think about it ;)
Dan:thumbs:
i would have bought some fronts a long while ago, but i was waiting for the rears to be completed to see if you'd do a double discount if we buy both at the same time :D
I'll jump on this GB once you confirm either way! ;)
How much difference will I see between the 330mm drilled and groved kit and the 345mm kit?
what sized wheels in general are needed for each sized disc?
spoke/wheel design dependant, ofcourse....
All the info you need is in this thread - http://www.sxoc.co.uk/vbb/showthread.php?t=264918
315mm will go under the standard wheel (i think the thread mentions minor modifications)
330mm will fit under 17"
345mm will need 18"
but check the thread just in case
Interested in the 315mm plain discs, redstuffs+front hoses. What calipers do I need for the pads Im thinking S14/Z32 ones?

Hi Dan Stick me down:
P1 Racing, 330mm Drilled/Grooved kit, S14 5 stud.
P1 Racing, 330mm Drilled/Grooved kit, S14 5 stud
XR33, 345mm Drilled/Grooved kit, S14 5 Stud
I'm going to have to check they'll fit, if not I'll have the 330mm.
Will 330 kit work with S14 calipers?

i think you will only really see the differance on track when pushing hard the 345 will beable to stop you a little fast and hand on a little long with heat fade etc.... i would go with the 345

Just under 4.5%, assuming you aren't on the limits of anything
(super basic)

The 330's are perfectly adequate for most driving, I know dunc took his for 3 laps of the nurburgring and they held up with no worries :) The 345's will be better at resisting fade due to the service area and the width :)
The GB discounts are based on total sets, not per kit :) so if 10 kits from various sizes/types sell then everyone gets the lowest price :)
As for the rears, I'm not going to commit them to the GB yet, as I really want to try a couple of kits out first :)
Dan

Do I get to specify or is it just what you've got in stock to hand?

Just copy and paste the above text :)
The 330's are perfectly adequate for most driving, I know dunc took his for 3 laps of the nurburgring and they held up with no worries :)
Just to clarify, they did 26 laps of the ring (mainly dry, none pedestrian paced) - 3 back to back at one point (on a wet track) and were fine. Also did knockhill (approx 50 dry laps) and stood up to that as well. Only comment I'd make (not related to quality of brake kit) is that redstuff pads don't seem to work from cold as well once they have seen track temps, excellent once up to temp though (4-5 corners approx).
I've got 330mm grooved/drilled with 300zx/s14 calipers on the front and 296mm z32 rears.
Hope this helps people at least a bit deciding on what style best suits thier needs?
Cheers,
Dunc.

just payed my deposit for 345 plain fronts, 330 rears for standard calipers, front braided hose and larger redstuffs
I'm in! S14a 5 stud. 315mm grooved kit + larger redstuffs + hoses. Paid deposit.
am i right in thinking that the R32 has essentially the same rear setup as an Z32 ? :S
and the same front setup as an S14/Z32?
i've had so many jap cars i can't remember what fits what... :D
ideally, i'd like, plain 345mm fronts, (need to check the space under my 17s)
330 rears.
just wondering if you'd know what fits?
but this does mean i'd have to sell my R32 GTR wheels and get some 33/34 wheels :D

Yep R32's have the same rear brakes as Z32's and the same front brakes as S14's/Z32's :)
What 17's do you have?
Dan
Dan, my wheels are pretty much exactly 350mm wide from the inside. Do you think the 315mm discs will fit? Would I need spacers? What does the kit include and do your braided hoses attach onto the brackets? Just need to know before I put my deposit in.

25-11-2007, 17:54
hi, will 345mm brake kit fit my s14a with rx8 alloys with 25mm wheel spacers at front? has anyone done this? is it to late for the group buy? cheers dan
Dan, sorry to mess you around, but I can't wait for the 345mm drilled discs, so can I switch them for the 345mm plain ones?
Dan can I get put down for a set of the 322 rears but they must be a plain disc. No interest in drilled/grooved.
Do you only accept paypal for the deposit, because I dont use it?
Dan@DB-Power
26-11-2007, 10:58
Onione:- The 315mm kit might just about fit, you can always try then and if they don't fit then return them :) As for the hoses they don't attach to the strut but you can alway join them to the strut using a cable tie or jubilee clip, this is what I do :)
As for payment, I can accept cheque or bank transfer :)
Tailhappy Dan:- I'm not sure if the 345mm kit will fit under RX8 wheels, never tried it :( if you get a chance measure the distance from your current brake disc to the inside of the rim and let me know the distance :) and you still have time to join :)
XR33GTS:- Yeah will change your option now :)
Muttly;- Yeah I can do plain discs, the price won't change though as either way the discs are expensive :(
Dan
Dan, I put my deposit in. S13 4 stud, 315mm plain discs, redstuff pads + front hoses. Cheers!
Dan, Im in for 315 ebc grooved driled (silver, not black) and bigger redstuffs for it + also bigger rears with pads that could be fitted under stock 16` wheels !!? do you have this?
Dan@DB-Power
27-11-2007, 14:03
Hi Cakoman
Yeah no worries, they will fit under your wheels but you will need to move your wheel weights on the outside lip and cut your pad spring clip down slightly :)
If you wish to proceed, follow the link in the 1st post :)

loada questions here:
are the 330mm rears ready to go at the end of the month too?
have you sorted some larger pads for the vectra calipers?
have you tried the omega calipers yet?
i've got my rear caliper sticking at the moment so i'm pretty desperate to get all this sorted and need to know about calipers so i can fit it next week.
Do you know if the standard caliper will still stick with no hydrolics and just the cable to operate it as i am planning on the rear vauxhall calipers too? or will i need to rebuild the rear standards?

As for the rears sticking, they shouldn't do but I am planning to add a bung in the kit to screw into where the old hose comes out of :)

another question (dumbass question)
If I go 315mm on the fronts,,,, what does one do with the rears???
Dan@DB-Power
28-11-2007, 16:15
Hi Joe
They are definitely an upgrade over standards, it's difficult to say how much though. What sort of driving do you do and how much power are you running?
As for the rears, depends on what car you have :)

These brake kits are becoming a game of testicle waving like turbos etc have done in the past.
- If you drive 'fast road' you will never need anything better than the 315mm kit with good pads (EVER). I have done some quite hard track days on mine with DS2500 and the brakes outlasted the pads  You need DS3000's to take the temps and even then the discs seem happy as larry
- If you do several track days a year you might consider the 330mm kit as the one for you.
- If you have a balls out track day car then go for 330mm or 345mm kit depending on wheel size.. although you're mad to run 18's on track at the price of those tyres!!
Rich
Hi Dan:wave:,
Just paid the deposit on the website;
Seph, 315mm Plain Kit, Front and Rear Braided Hoses, DS2500 larger pads, 2 x Front caliper rebuild kits, S14a 5 stud.

Thanks

Thanks for the help on this.
I do mainly fast road ,, but have a track day coming up beginning of january, maybe an odd one in future.
car is pretty standard S14a , but I will be adding bits gradually soon.
what's the prescription for rears eh ??
Brembo or Zimmerman's :)
Hi Dan,
What make are the plain 315mm discs?
Cheers
Mark
Hi Dan,
If it's ok can you put me down for plain 315mm Brembos please.
Lemme know who the cheque gets made out to and where to post...or bank transfer if you want?
Thanks
Mark
Dan, could I possibly swap over to yellowstuff pads instead of the redstuffs? I will do a trackday in a few weeks and think they might be a bit better for this. How are they for road use compared to redstuffs pads, do they heat up well?:)
Joematose
29-11-2007, 10:28
Dan,
when you say "larger DS2500's" will they still fit in the standard S14 calliper??
Richy_Boy
29-11-2007, 10:35
 They fit the caliper fine, but 'hang out' towards the centre to give you more friction material to clamp the disc with.
I run 'larger' DS3000 on track and they're  (awesome!) The size allows for the entire 315mm kit disc face to be covered by pad, where the std. pads will leave 1.5cm ish untouched.
Hope that helps,
Rich

Hi Guys
330mm kits I will try and get out this side of the year :)
315mm kits are slowly going out, but I am now waiting on more brackets, shouldn't be long though :)
Dan
Any ETA on the 345 drilled, 330 rears and the Intercoolers (from the other GB)?
:)
The 330mm Rear brake kit using original S14 calipers is it using the orginal rear calipers or the front, just soo im sure :)
And will it fitt a S15?
And will the hanbreak work?
I have a 356 kitt at front so need something bigger rear.
Regards
Have the 315mm kits been sent out yet? Or anytime soon?

Dan - Have you sent the 330 kits yet as have just seen you do the caliper refurb kits and wondering if you could throw some into my order. I've got s14 fronts and z32 rears. How mush would the kits be for those (I believe the pistons the same so would be 3 kits?)
Cheers

Not happy:( No instructions, wrong hoses, extended delays. Surely i'm not the only one? Don't want to winge, but its just not professional:rolleyes: Has anyone got some instructions (315mm discs and larger pads) to post up? I can't seem to find any and I need to get the brakes fitted this weekend for my MOT.
DB-power: do u got a rear disc upgrade-kit for s14 that uses std caliper and are slight bigger so go under std weels??
Dan@DB-Power

Gymp:-
I've e-mailed the instructions to you :) as said, I'm sorry about the delays and the hoses, the hoses aren't my fault though, they were from a new supplier and they cocked up :( The delay's I hold my hands up to though, they were my engineer's fault and my responsibility :(

Per Ulv, not at present mate :(
Sorry

Dan, im not trying to be an ass but i sent my payment over three months ago!

I have ordered some 330mm cross drilled and groved front discs plus bigger DS2500 for my s14.
