Its been said that if i leave at 12 as i was thinking, ill run slap bang into Bir-mingin-ham rush hour, so fook that!
Matt, wat sort of time would u be looking to leave for it, to mis the rush hour, but still get there at a reasonable time?
How long is bham chocka for?

dude im easy should be free to leave anytime in the day, wanna get to Billing around 8pm really but not fussed if a 4am pitch of a tent happens again like lats year:D even better at 5.30am the year before lol

I was thinking if we aim to get there for around 9pm that would take us through bir mingin ham at around 7-8pm which will miss rush hour if i remember my distances properly?
I think Dobergoose and Jonnyspeedbumps are gonna come along too, so should be a decent sized convoy i hope.

what about meeting at forton services just out side Lancaster for the up up north lot on the friday plus what time or has any one got any other ideas
Forton is probably a good bet....or what about Charnock Richard Services just south of Preston?
Matt_J, if your comming from Sunderland, Ya best of taking the A66 from the A1 (scotch corner I think) across to the M6, as it is one of the best drivers roads in the country, you may as well enjoy the drive ;)
Yeah best route is proabably:
M6 Through to stoke, then onto the A50 at Junction 15, then follow the A50 right through to Donington to pick up the M1, then the usual route from there.
The A50 is an absolutely spot on road, and is as fast as any motorway, and removes ALL the hassels of Birmingham ;)
All this is gonna be time dependant though?!? What sort of times are you guys looking at? Hopefully I will be able to join the convoy, but it depends what time my mate is finishing work ;)

Vez yeah mate tis the route i always take, the a1 down to scotch corner then a66 all the way over to where i come out at junction 38 on the M6, so thats where i will be joining the M6 where exactly are we all gonna meet? and yeah what time cos thats a biggie?
to start off, what junction number is charnock richard near i cant fookin remember, maybe meet up with you on the M6 first Kev? im thinking around 5pm or something but thats just to test the water and get peoples feathers ruffled cos otherwise it will take us a month of squibbles before someone suggests a time LOL:D

andy yeah cool meet you there at whatever time you are ready, i nonly said i would meet kev at 5 as im assuming you guys are still comin back from jobs whatever, and i know what you are saying vez will be an hour at least before we get there, if you guys wanna get going a little bit earlier i can meet kev at 4.30 and go from there its all down to what time you southerners can pull your lowly asses out onto the motorway:D

right i have just been thru the whole thread to see where we stand.
Looks like Kev, Dobergoose, Dunc and Johnnyspeedbumps will start the convoy from Glasgow bringing whoever else from up there down with him, then from there he should meet:
*Mike_S13 - Junction 44 on the M6
*RG200SX - Junction 40 on the M6
*Matt_J - Junction 38 on the M6
*Hotrod - Junction 36 on the M6
*Road Kill - Junction 33 on the M6
then i suggest we all stop off and meet the rest at Charnock Richard at a proposed 6.15pm like Vez said, people to be met at Charnock Richard are:

*MartyT3
*AL
and anyone else who wants to meet there, maybe northernmonkey and SNURDF, oh and the duff machine an all:D
Others to meet on the way down need to post and let us know their plans : Mittomatto, StuyMac, Pazza, Adegt4, Marty_t3 etc. Need some confirmation from all.
The route to go round birmingham like Vez said i think we should take. This is for Friday 25/06/03 and as Vez said we shall take:
The M6 through to Stoke,
Then onto the A50@Junction 15
Then follow the A50 right through to Donington to pick up the M1
should be a bloody big group if we pull it off:)
anyone have any other suggestions? i will pass out my moby number nearer the time to get in contact with people who need to meet etc

RIGHT post updated for who will be coming etc......suggest that we all stop off and meet at Charnock Richard at 6.15pm for sure, for say 10 mins aor whatever and get organised, scottish lads will have had a chunky drive down by that point and deserve a lil break and it gives us the chance to get organised and meet etc...
i will still be meeting at junction 38 on the M6, Kev i will be ringing you loads asking where you are so you can just drive past on the M6 and i will join and catch you up:)
charnock richard will have to be a stop off meet:)

i work in lancaster - i live nearer to ingleton, a placed called high bentham (out in the sticks with mental roads!!)
was up your end at the weekendo, at dalton zoo (awwwwww!)
like ur s13 (best colour!!) - i'll be doing some similiar mods over the next 8 months or so (FMIC etc).
I dunno if Matt_J is able to get to a PC or whatnot, but he's currently having difficulties with his car. More news when it comes in!

Hi mate i`m the other guy travelling over the 66 to meet you at charnock with mattJ, his car is going again fuel tank is not in the best of shape and is causing fuel filter in tank to clog but thinks he has sorted that so we are still on, i informed him of the slight change in time and he doesn`t see it as a problem, he said he was going to give you a bell anyways to let you know the score with his 200.
Just spoke to him and its running so the impression i get is that he is gonna get it tested and taxed tomorrow ready for friday i reckon we can be at charnock for about 5.30, as long as he doesn`t navigate that is.
See you lot friday........ AND OI !!!!! Less of the old mans car :D
