can identify the rattle on my drivers side. I'll fix it, but I cannot find what it is, and it's driving me nuts
If anybody fancies a go at diagnosis, if you succeed where I have failed I'll take you to Tesco or off license and sort you with enough beer to get utterly wasted should you be so enclined, or enough beer to last you a week.

haha, your car really is a bit special...
I'll take a look though, thanks.
It's more of a clunking noise than a rattle.
It I didn't know it wasn't the caliper I would think it was that, but I have checked, and double checking and it's not that!
Ben
i'll pop round and have a look, any reason to go ragging around (with you driving) for an evenig is good enough

Sounds like brakes, drivers side, but it isn't that, so much be engine back or arch.

all the time or under acc/braking? was thinking maybe a susp arm or your big brake caliper extensions a bit loose?

Does it happen when the brakes are applied?
Does it happen over bumps?
Dodgy Shock?
Spring not sitting right/snapped spring?
Bushes?
ARB?

calipers not loose.
It's when im just driving over bumps at fairly slow speeds I can hear it, but I would guess it's there at high speed, just the car's too loud to hear it!
I have wiggled everything I can see and cannot reproduce the movement.

Do you have coilovers on?
If so how low do you have them?
Go and rock that side of your car. When you push down, if you hear a clunk i would say your shock is on its way out.
One of my rear ones is doing the same, look for leaks around the shock for fluid.

Could be your shock, go and bounce up and down on it. You might hear a clunk.

have a look at the top mount of the strut. the bearings go quite badly. make sure TC arm nuts to the bottom arm are really tight, and have a look at where the ARB links go into the bottom arms, my s13 had ovalled the holes and klunked really badly

I have just bounced all 4 corners, shocks all appear in good working order, and no rattling.
Dont get me wrong, ARBs, Braces, Coilovers, Locking collars, Bushes etc all will be dont when I have the spare cash, but for now I need that rattling sorted!
This month has been pricey with BMC Stopper, new wheels, z32 calipers + complete refurb, profec B Spec II... so no coilovers just yet!

I suspect I may need an expert to point to all that stuff... I have poked everything while the wheels were off with a braker bar, tried leavering things and everything was solid! I cannot reproduce the noise!
