FYI, I'm going for a 5" Jap box plus mid section silencer with all pipes in 2.5". Total cost £345 at Turiff 01888-562929 fitted Sat 22nd Feb. My Rolling Road guy says 2.5" pipe should give right amount of back pressure without sapping power. Norris recommends 2.25" so I should be OK. The place in Dunfermiline said their price to you was excluding vat, so would have been £400! I'll be on the rollers on 1st March so watch this space for power. My current mods are:

 TSW Imola 7.5/17
 Goodyear Eagle F1s 215/45R17
 Speciality Products EZ cam 81250 front camber adjusting bolts
 Momo Tornado Steering Wheel
 Clarion CD DRB4575R
 Autometer 4701 Carbon Fiber Ultra-Lite 20psi Boost Gauge
 K&N 75i Filter + cold air feed
 Turbo Dynamics T25H p/n MD83 s/n J060JA
 ND Actuator 15psi (soon to be 18psi)
 Jez stage-2 chip 4000/7200rpm limits 15 degrees BTDC
 Bosch Fuel Pump
 SAAB FMIC + blue Samco hoses
 NGK BCPR7ES spark plugs
 Bailey Dump Valve
 Brembo 280mm 10 groove front discs + Pagid fast road pads
 Castrol GTX Magnatec 10/40
 LUK clutch kit
 INSANE rear window sticker

:D :D :D

Sound good, is it a powerflow dealer you are going to? Did you phone the number I gave you then? They deffenately told me it was £330 for the whole lot. I'll call them again.
I got so much to do on my car. Got to fit my boost guage, electronic boost controller and getting a volvo intercooler on tuesday.
you car should be ripping when you get that stage 2 chip and exhaust in and boost up to 18PSI

Tonnie, yep I called the number/spoke to the bloke you said and mentioned you and he said thats the price but before the dreaded VAT! The place I'm going to is a Powerflow in Turrif about 60 miles north of Aberdeen!

I'm dying to get all my stuff done and then that'll be as far as I can go with the T25H (250bhp...?) I'll probably be bored after 6 months?

Youve got some good stuff for your car (I'm jealous of your controller!!!) and with the T28 you should get up to 300bhp? It'll be fun at Crail.

Mike,

Just spoke to a guy in Perth, who said he could give me a full system for £340 as long as I pay cash. How loud are you going to get yours? I spoke to him about this, he said it would be better if I went for an actual jap box, which is very good qyuality and all chromed finish and will give the car a very deep rumble. He said this is what mosts scoobys go for. He could do that for an extra £20
The back box that you will be going for is an actual powerflow back box and they just stick the 5'' tailpipe on.
They got an open day on the 1st March, which I'm going to go to.
He said I could try out different tailpipes against my car.

it's the one at the bottom of the page I'm getting (I hope!) and as for the noise, I could'nt resist the biggest but I'm getting an extra box half way between the turbo and tail. I'll call them up on Monday just to make sure and when it's fitted next Saturday I'll report back!

Oh yes, I've also e-mailed Simon Norris asking if 2.25" or 2.5" pipe is best.

Thanks Tonnie, we'll get to the bottom of this one way or another! :)

Good choice mate. Thats what i'd like to get so i'll be looking out for your feedback. Are you de-catting? Whats the 'extra box' for? Guessing just to dumb down the noise a bit? :D

yup, the cat must go ('tis OK for the MOT since no S13 needs a cat to pass) and the extra box is noise reduction...

Phoned the guy in Aberdeeshire and he quoted me £349 with the 5'' back box. The guy in Perth said £360 and Perths only 20 miles from me. Will get mines soon as I get my car back. Dropped it off today for the full re spray in super gloss black. Get it back in a week and a half.

Powerflow say yes it is the full 5" chrome box. Simon says go for 2.5" pipe. I'm going Saturday and will give feedback then...

I've got one on my Nissan Serena 2.0SLX rwd, lsd, twin sunroof, 8 seater... tarnishes quickly as you say but lifetime guarantee. The back box I'm going for is shiny chrome and about the size of a small country with a five squillion inch tailpipe. You'll hear me on Saturday afternoon as I rev it up in Aberdeen...

Only 3 days to go

How big is your system? Has it been de-catted?

Loud for a 1.4.

vibrio

it's a 2 /14 bore. that was not decatted there but is now. to be fair the camera was held quite close to the exhuast. this gives a better impression of the system

it's so much fun modifying (when things go right!) and good to see others doing good stuff too! Vibrio: your punto scared me on the strip how fast it was. Last time at Crail, I was up against an escort... ha! I thought I'll have him! Little did I know he was rwd with a Cosworth engine! I'll get him next time!

only one more day and the cat will be gone  and my quest for 250bhp will be nearly complete!

Mike, surely it ain't that loud is it?? Or did you change your mind about the mid-section silencer? ;)

How does it compare to other zorsts? Can you feel every bugger looking at you as you drive it now??!

Are you losing power cos of it?!

boost cut is when ECU sees too much air flowing into engine and it stops the fuel (I think). A chip sorts this (I'm geeting one and a rolling road setup next saturday). Noise was "bad" for the first 5 miles but it's OK if you dont boot it... so you can decide when to be a boy racer! I did have a small mid-section box fitted just behind gearbox and went for 2.5" pipe. I LIKE it! :p

And for the Advert... buy your exhaust and tyres at good prices from Turriff Tyres like me. Call Jim or Julian at Turiff tyres 01888 562929

Vibrio has offered to post some clips I've sent him, so come back soon!

Thanks Tonnie, I'm well pleased! :D The place is a long drive for you: it's 1 hour North of Aberdeen, inland from Peterhead! However, it's a great drive there and you get excellent service and price was a totally reasonable £349! I also got 4 Goodyear Eagle F1's (02) and everything all in was £692.10. You need to book and it took 8:00-12:30 but the village is about a mile away and theres a cafe you can sit in.. Also, about 30 miles West in Huntly there's a rolling road guy (I'm going next Saturday) so if it was a weekday you could do both with the one trip?

Now, where are my keys...? brrrooooommmmm
