I don't believe I'm admitting to this but I've just gone to get my car out of the garage and I've just said "Good Morning" to it?  It took me 10 seconds to realise what I had just did!!

So, do you talk to your car?

OF course
A well spoken to car is a happy car. a happy car is a fast and reliable.

Try ignoring a VW Beetle and you'll find that it throws spanners at you (literally). Same applies elsewhere I'm sure - but I'm not taking any chances.

It's all to do with karmic vibrations you see...

Must admit... i've found myself talking to my old 200. Come to think on it though, it's the only car i've ever "talked" to. Every other car i've had has just been a lump of metal that gets me from A to B.... the 200 was special ... :D

Anyway... anything that makes you look forward to driving to work at least deserves a "good morning" :D

The only time I talk to cars is when they break down, I don't really talk to them though, more swear at them:D

Even by your standards Ant, this is a weird post. You'll be looking at the hair on the palm of your hands next;)

I know what you mean. I tend to thank them when getting out of a sticky situation, like straight road, foot down in 2nd, sideways ... FUUUUUUUUUUUCK. Got it back though, JUST! (Parked cars down either side  )

Yup - All cars are women and as such feel neglected if not spoken to for any length of time. The s13 is quite happy with me talking to her in English, the fiat is bi-lingual but the lancia only responds to Italian. Something to do with her age I think.
How does everyone address their pride and joy?

Only two of the cars I've owned have been special enough to deserve to be talked to on a regular basis. My 1st Capri 2.8i, and, of course, my 200 :)

My Capri even had a name - it was Eleanor, after the Shelby Mustang GT500 in Gone in 60 Seconds (the UK Capri was based on the Mustang).

Am I sad or what? :D

P.S. My 200 is called Rachel ;)

I have a "Jesus!" handle on the passengar A Pillar post if that counts :D The whole car doesn't have a name tho but it does get the occasional "helloooooo" in the morning and "please grip, pleeeeeeese grip" when I've overcooked it drifting on roundabouts.

When I had my spine operation two years ago I couldn't drive for over 5 months.

I missed the car so much that I used to open the garage doors, pull up a chair and sit and look at it!

Saddo? Yep!

I always pat my car on the steering wheel when we get home and thank him :D No, it's not weird, it's just polite :D:D

the limit of my speech to my car is usually "WHY WHY WHY DO YOU HATE ME?!" and happens about every 2k miles or so:rolleyes:

i talk to my car :D doesn't everyone? i also look at my car everyday while i run it (keeping the engine sweet) having a coffe and a fag :D lol

I must admit tho, the best incar entertainment is when you are forced to drive a normal car with no radio. The only resort you have is to take the racing line on every corner whilst making F1 noises :D i swear the noises add 750bhp on corners :D lol
