S14a HID kit
Anyone with an S14a knows that the head lights aren't that good. And now that the nights are drawing in a good lighting system makes all the difference on dark mornings and evenings. Our S14a HID kits transform the lighting performance on your car.

Why an H Dev HID kit?
Our kits come with all you need to fit them:
2 x bulbs
2 x HID ballasts
1 x relay kit with fuse
1 x mounting kit

Fitting is straight forward, with just simple power and signal conenctions required.

What does the temperature rating mean? 4300k vs 6000k
The temp rating of a HID bulb relates to the colour of the light that is produced. 4300k is the same as OEM (Audi, BMW etc) bulbs and gives the brightest output. 6000k bulbs produce light that is bluer, but a little less bright.

What's all this about a (Cookie) relay Kit?
These kits, made by Cookie, solve a potential problem when flashing your main beams (normally the HIDs would turn off). We don't supply this kit.

We recommend you wire the HIDs so they come on with the side lights - this gets around the flashing problem and means that the HIDs are on, even when on full beam.

Got any pictures of the kit?

How much and how do I order?
We've got limited stock, so be quick!
The kits are only £74.99 - just place an order on our web site - the kits are in stock now, so no waiting required! Click here: http://www.h-dev.co.uk/index.php?cPath=78_120

Just saw this Jez. I think i will place an order monday (when i get some money:wack: )

This seems a good way to get around the "flashing" problem. Wiring it via sidelights. Just to confirm, does this mean when you flash the HIDs stay on and when you put the high beem on they stay on as well.....giving more light:thumbs:

Jez

Yup - basically whenever the sides are on, the HIDs are on too.

fitted these at the weekend, great job

one thing tho- i don't think you have to wire them up to the sidelights. the dipped headlights don't come on if you flash the main beam without the headlights on so you won't be wearing out the ballasts. I only realised this after i'd started to fit them but i'm sure they would work ok if you just wired them to the dipped headlight wires, not the sidelights as mentioned above. ;)

i think it is when you go from dipped lights to full beam and back to dips, the hid balasts go off and on as well and turning the ballasts on and of a lot can blow them also it takes a few seconds for the ballasts to warm up and in some cases i have heard of the ballasts not coming on for a few seconds meaning when you go from full to dipped there can be a few seconds with no light, not good at a ton with no lights on a country road

but i have every intention of getting these cause the side light thing fixes the problem and hid's look sweet

Slightly offbase this one, but my girlfriends old Merc (220 CE) uses H4 pattern bulbs too and could deffo do with something more useful in the lighting stakes.... could I fit one of these kits to it with no other considerations or is it vehicle specific ?

Garysx
10-11-2007, 15:08
Jez i'll be ordering mine today for my car:thumbs:  Can you tell me if you do H7 kits for the same price as these are what my mate wants for his focus. If they are i'll order them at the same time.

Jez
10-11-2007, 15:21
I've got no H7 kits in stock I'm afraid

The H4 should work in the Merc, although I can't guarantee it :)

Hmmm.... I have a cunning plan..... buy them for her, if they don't fit the Merc then on to the S13 they go !!!!! It is the S13's are H4's innit ?

Wow, great service Jez! They arrived 2 days after I ordered them, just in time for the weekend :D:D:D

Fitted mine yesterday. On an s14a you will have to cut a bigger hole at the back of the bulb houseing cover to accomodate a larger rubber grommet where the wies are going through, but really this is the hardest part.

Thanks again Jez, will be using H Dev again :D

Hi Jez, want one of the HID kits please, and also some Denso IK22s - just went to order on your website and the only shipping option available is £20 :( dont suppose you have a cheaper alternative mate? If we can maybe sort something, i'll order them with you on Monday to hopefully get it all by end of next week :)

Jez
14-12-2007, 17:55
Yeah, sorry about that - the postage thing is a bit annoying on my web site. That will have been for special delivery, and over 2kg its £20 :(
I can send the HIDs and plugs via 1st class recorded and it'll be £9.35 postage :)
You can either do it via my web site and I'll sort out the postage afterwards - just put a note in the comments box saying you want 1st recorded, or give me a ring :)
