S13 HID kit
Anyone with an S13 knows that the head lights aren't that good. And now that the nights are drawing in a good lighting system makes all the difference on dark mornings and evenings. Our S13 HID kits transform the lighting performance on your car.

Why an H Dev HID kit?
Our kits give you dipped and main beam. Theres no interruption between switching between dipped and main beam and the change is instant.

Our kits come with all you need to fit them:
2 x bulbs
2 x HID ballasts
1 x relay kit with fuse
1 x mounting kit

What does the temperature rating mean? 4300k vs 6000k
The temp rating of a HID bulb relates to the colour of the light that is produced. 4300k is the same as OEM (Audi, BMW etc) bulbs and gives the brightest output. 6000k bulbs produce light that is bluer, but a little less bright.

What's all this about a (Cookie) relay Kit?
These kits, made by Cookie, are not required for the S13 at all - so no worries!

Got any pictures of the kit?

How much and how do I order?
We've got limited stock, so be quick!
The kits are only £89.99 - just place an order on our web site - the kits are in stock now, so no waiting required! Click here: http://www.h-dev.co.uk/index.php?cPath=78_120

Stupid question (probably) but are the dipped and the main HID or just the dipped like the RichyBoy groupbuy ones?

Jez cleverly sourced the mechnical switching units so both dipped and full beam are HID (i.e. same bulb, but with a mechnical slider). The cheapest I could get these were £120 odd

Great product and price IMO

How much more load do they put on the car when on? would like a set but mine likes to drop the idle a lot just with 80W dipped beam bulbs.

Richy_Boy
12-10-2007, 09:52
Less load.. they run at 35W

Jez

This is the H4 hi/lo HID bulb type:
http://www.h-dev.co.uk/images/h4%20hid%20bulb%20180x180.jpg

The bulb moves between two positions for main and dipped beam

Bit of a side step question Jez.....Is this option avaiable for the S14a

You can do it, but you'll need two H1 sets as dipped and main beam use different bulbs on the s14a

A thought, what happens if you just want to flash the head lights? i.e. to let some one out a juntion.

Jez
21-10-2007, 15:43
The HIDs flash as normal. The time taken to go from dipped to main is very very low.

how hard as these to fit jez?

thanks

Pretty easy: replace the bulb (thats probably the most difficult bit), couple of wires to the battery and plug into the existing loom. Pretty straight forward.

I suspect as the other kits you have are compatable, it may be possible to swap the bulb from the Richy_Boy HIDs to the H-Dev ones if Jez can get some spare bulbs :) Certainly worth investigating!

sorry mate I ment from no lights on as in during the day. wouldn't they have to fire up. and if so would flashing them like this do any damage?

I see what you mean - They take a short time to fire up, although the popups prob take longer to pop than the hids take to fire up. You won't do any damage, might wear them out a bit quicker but to be honest they're sposed to last a lot longer than std bulbs any way.

Yeah, maybe - I'd need a volunteer to test though as the looms might be different.

I bought a set of these on Wednesday, arrived on Thursday, drove to work with them fitted this morning. Very impressed indeed. Thanks Jez.

The're not in a Nissan mind... There cant be many J plate Sierra's with Xenons on the road! I think they are even better than the H1 kit I fitted to my 14a this time last year.

silly question, are these 100% road legal as I have heard mixed reviews abotu HID kits...

Richy_Boy
05-12-2007, 09:45
Considering, depending on the level of tune your car has technically illegal brakes and suspension HID is the least of your worries :D (i.e. the old 'for motorsport use only' thing)

I've run HIDs for years... 3 MOTS and no problems whatsoever. Illegal or not, no one cares or even grumbles as long as they are aligned correctly. :)

There is some talk that they're illegal because of normal lenses softer focus and HID's should be automatically self levelling. I don't care though, it only takes me 2 seconds to change back to standard bulbs for MOT time. But I'll get it tested with them in to test the water.

dont suppose youve got any before and after pics of these fitted? Mates just got some on his s14a and there awsome, would these be the same quality? cheers

Jez

I'm afraid I've not got any S14a before and after pics. Although most hid kits will give similar light output quality :)

Jez, sorry for the retarded question, but do you know if the S13 kit works on the PS13 Silvia? I bought one of these kits for my RS13 about a year ago, but its been off the road since then...

I'm sure there used to be a thread in this section with what bulb type each car had - but I can't find it now :wack:

Jez
11-04-2008, 09:06
I'm not sure to be honest. You'll need to find out what type of bulb it uses.
