If you are in a hurry , then it might be worth the trip to APT in Norwich - that way if somethign goes wrong and it kills your engine , you have some comeback :)

No hurry really - Cash Flow is more of a problem if i book it into APT, thats why id rather do it myself with a little bit of help :D

If you can get yourself and your car to Gloucester, I'll help you. As it goes, I'm free all next week.

I know it doesn't help, but I'm in exactly the same boat. I daren't take this part of the car apart because I know it will all go horribly wrong :wack: (I've got to replace the VVT sprocket)

Maybe we can get a group together and do a whole bunch in one hit

Having just read a fitting guide it looks fairly easy to do. Any one know if theres any part of this job that can go wrong? ie undo bolt - pulley explodes etc!
If it really is that simple then I'm confident to do it.

The only danger I could see was bjorkng the threads in the head for the cam cover bolts. They really are so so so so so easy to strip... :/

That part will be fine, had my rocker cover off four times now, only problem there is if the nuts have been done up too tight previously but its easily sorted.

Thanks a million for your Help Jim - couldnt have done it with out your expert knowledge :D

The rattle is deff quiter on idle now, but its still making noise threw out the lower rev range :wack: i wonder if removing the Cam chain guide would cure that?

Give it a go, only take half an hour and can't hurt.
