Kazaa- seems to be riddled with pop ups and not ver good
Tried dling morpheus a couple of days ago and it dont seem much cop at all, and since then, any time i stick the net on, im getting a few pop-ups.
Usually come straight on ere too.
So where is good for MP3's and maybe movies or games since i have broadband now:D :D
Kev
BB's good innit :D
Kazaa is good kev but you just have to get used to the pop ups unfortunately:rolleyes: It gets better when ur rating goes up, d/l speeds become much much quicker.
Heard some ppl on here using KazaaLite which is supposed to be really good, similar to kazaa but without the annoying stuff - you could try searcing www.download.com for that :)
download.com click on mp3 search,
kazaa lite is good so is sharzera;)
Get yourself a decent Usenet account, a copy of Newsrover and get what you want from the newsgroups. I do, or rather I don't (Oh God, I'm not starting that thread again). You won't get faster downloads any other way. Just haven't downloaded the C&C game, just to have a look. Two cds, in about 2 1/2 hours.
WinMX isn't closed - I'm using it right now. :)
www.winmx.com
edonkey2000 mate.
Download the edonkey / Overnet hybrid from
www.edonkey2000.com

Check out this (http://www.zeropaid.com) for info on P2P. Can confirm WinMx is still up and running ;)

>Kazaa- seems to be riddled with pop ups<
Best to remove Kazaa and get yourself a copy of AdAware pronto to remove all the spyware and adbots it will have installed on your machine. Spybot is also a good tool for erasing hidden s/w on your PC.
Then get Kazaa Lite (http://www.kazaalite.tk/) which has all the bad stuff removed and some handy tools to speed-up downloads, like setting your participation level to 1000.
Also, on a BB connection you defintinely need a firewall and anti-virus; ZoneAlarm and AVG (www.grisoft.com) work for me and are free. Peronally, I wouldn't put any of Norton's stuff on my PC.
I've tried eMule as a client for the network eDonkey2000 uses. Although that P2P net seems to have more available than Kazaa the d/l speeds I got were always terrible - it could take days to fetch a file!
im using iMESH at the mo, and occasionally direct connect

Have you tried limewire?
I was wrong, ur right win mx is still running so i dld that.
It just stopped working all together one day, so i assumed it was closed, but looks like they just upgraded.
And sherzara.
Also got rid of morpheus.
I will get rid of Kazaa.
Thanks for all the suggestions guys, ill just work my way through them all and see wats best.
Amcluesent, thanx for that bud, are all the things u listed there free, or just the anti-virus one?

Kazaa Lite. No pop ups and I get loads of the latest DVD/VCD's from there. Sorted. ( Or I would if that were legal;) ).

They are all, genuinely, free. Most are also supplied in a fancier 'pro' version that, ahem, should be to be paid for;) .
Remember if you want to play C&C: Generals multiplayer you will all need to have a unique key in your registry.. obviously this won't be a problem if a) you bought the game, b) you have something called a KEYGEN. I don't know what this KEYGEN instrument is but it sounds interesting. I will research it.
ok it says here that a KEYGEN will "GENERATE KEYS".
Sounds useful, will stop me locking myself out of the car!
