Do any of you know how to represent a bend or fold line in engineering drawings? Must be almost 40 years since I last did any. Thanks. BTW I'm using TotalCAD 8.

Isnt it something like a dashed line ------- with a note to how many degrees the bend should be?

Thanks Steve. That's what I have done but I'm sure that there is another convention used these days. Still too late now as the drawings are now at the fabricators. Lets hope that they understand.
Yes, it's a dashed line but I usually draw the component in it's completed state and let them work out the developed lengths etc.

Yeah this is the best way to do it, for future reference :p It also means you can add the tolerences where you need them.

Indeed. your cut lengths are dependant on the thickness of material and method of fabricating.
This can become very complicated when your makeing stuff flat pack stylee and also be the cause of many heated discussions with disgruntled CNC machine operators :)
Stupid question alert!
Wak, just noticed your occupation. Any ideas whats wrong with my bosch fuel pump, I've sent it off to get tested by Bosch and they've p!ssed me about for ages then sent it back claiming its OK:mad:
I'll forward/dig out some of my related threads if you fancy some pump related trivia?

Yeah - dig em out. The problem with Bosch is that they're German and they can't accept anything they have done might not be right;)

I never doubted you for a minute;)
What are you going to do when you have successfully installed your lights? Its seems there's a fair bit of interest, are you going to get kits made and sell them? Are you going to sell the drawings or just give them away because you are a lovely human being?;)

Hi Wak
I'm looking at doing a kit. But I may just supply the drawings.
Need to work out the total cost for the kit, looks as though it will come to about £350. Still cheaper than the US one.
If it is a kit, it will include all wiring, relays and instructions.

Cheers mate,
I refitted it last night, it was a different one from the one I sent back (a few people sent they're pumps back at the same time and they must have all got distributed randomly as they all got returned for the same reason and were found to be working?). So maybe I'll have better luck with this one.
I'll give you a shout if this one goes the same way,
Cheers,
Dunc. :)
