View Full Version : Silencing my exhaust

I have a sneaky suspicion that my exhaust may be a tad over the spl limits set by most tracks.

What are the options I have re silencing?

I know you can get silencers but someone mentioned some sort of plug.

I'm really after a cheaper temporary fix if at all possible - something that I can just "slap" on for track days that will not affect performance. If there isnt such a thing, how much is a decat silencer pipe?

The bung you need will depend on which exhaust you have, bungs sap power, silencers arent anywhere near as restrictive.
Where near manchester are you?

Decat silencers - cant tell you price here as I'm a trader, somebody else may, or ask in Apex's section here

Aye, we ran just under 600bhp in our Skyline with three of our silencers and 500bhp in our S13 with two :)

Does that mean if we don't help you, you'll shoot us? :D

The silencer is the way to go  Bungs are very restrictive and TBH I've not been in a car yet with a bung that didn't rattle like a bastid after a few miles :wack:

I probably will get a silencer at some point but depending on the price difference I may just get a bung as a temporary fix just for my first trackday

Pop to Graham at DCMS in Burnley, he's not far from you and will add whatever silencers you need, he is fantastically priced too. It wont sap your power either

Yes mate, he has everything in stock and is a bit of an expert at cutting welding etc  he will do whatever you need, whether its custom or just fitting an off the shelf silencer. He's helped silence most of the NW SXOC :wack: Just give him a bell on:
