:p

I just don't see the point in making out to be some sort of life enriching revolutionary car, its not. It is really practical and good spec blah blah, so why don't they just advertise it like that?

Crap add, for a crap car, simple :)

because it would flop! The problem with trying to market a "good practical car" is that it sounds so fcuking boring!

Would an add that said "this car is really well spec'd, sensible, practical and well built" appeal to you? now be honest :D

The fact we are talking about it now is proof that the advert is a success. It generates interest - and that was its intention. :)

just think if you're going to make a car ad then you might as well show the car, not some lips and words that aren't real. After working on the car for over six months I've seen all the nice details, like remembering your birthday and having tetris, and the ad shows none of em:rolleyes:

Oooh now thats funky.

Can it remember other peoples birthdays too? Im shite like that. Well so far, it sounds a like a VERY LARGE mobile phone! lol

I see what you're saying, but people aren't going to buy a car purely from what is on TV. The ad generates interest, which lead prospective customers to the showroom to look for themselves. An advert that is purely factual would not be rememberable. It is the adverts that are the most strange/have the most little to do with the products that are often the best at serving their purpose.

he's right. its publicity "full stop". just as well most people aren't like me and go "what a w4nk advert, i won't buy that product and hopefully the company will go bankrupt" :D

I'm a huge fan of technolgy. I envisage a day in years to come where our car's ECU will recognise a problem, communicate it to our local dealership where upon turning up, the part is ready and waiting to be installed to our car - minimum fuss. The technology is available, it's just who will be first to use it.

The company I used to work (on my placement) has a subsidiary that is working for Microsoft purely as a technology precurement company. I had a look at some of the work it was involved in, some of it included an operating system that basically ran your home - heating, lighting etc...what's more, run my Microsoft. How long before we all have homes where a Microsoft OS controls our home heating, lighting and other ammenities?

Also, if I were Nokia, I'd be sh1tting it right now because the new Microsoft OS phones are due out soon (if not already) - an common interface between PC, PDA and mobile phone is a major benefit and one which will attract many buyers.

It can remember any day, but when its a birthday it plays Happy Birthday!

I think the reason its annoyed me so much is that I'm like shadowninja, and want companies with bad adverts to go belly up. Unfortunately that would put me out of work:eek:
