Does anyone have information regaqrding this? Do any of the Service Providers support this?

Ash, there is a little company which is sort of part of the Uni at work, they do a lot with SMS IP, group mail (SMS) shots etc.

They buy messages in bulk, stil about 7p each though.

I can find out more if necessary.
I think it pretty straight forward though, you get a service provider and send them a file of the message and numbers for the message to be sent to.

Cheers Jezz, would like some mr info.

Basically I'm setting up an SMS Gateway (Domino Everyplace) and can't be arsed with plugging a modem in to connect to the SMS Centre when it says I can do it over IP.

Just need to know how.

Vodafone are just begining to support SMS over IP - I work for them - email me if you'd like some more info :)

Jez, there is a Vodafone office in the Birchwood business park in Warrington - do you happen to know what goes on at this place?

I would, but we have just transferred our corporate account to T Mobile. :rolleyes:

I don't know I'm afraid - could be an MTX ('phone exchange) VF have them all over the country.

Ill look out for you! :) trouble is theres more than 60 Vodafone buildings in Newbury at the moment...

My internet provider allow me to send about 10 sms's a day for free.:D :D :D

Update.

SMS over IP is for when you are sending more than 10,000 SMS messages a day :eek:
