View Full Version : S14 Stripped Interior Pics Needed
Hi people, ive decided that since im now keeping the S14 i want to strip the rear out and just have 2 buckets and maybe a cage. It makes sense because i very rarely have people in the back anyway due to it being a tad clostrophobic and i love the whole race car feel. I was just looking for some inspiration really....if you have any pics of a 14/a stripped interior please post them up.
cheers
I found a few if anyone fancies some inspiration:

Thats very very tidy!
Bit OTT IMHO tho. I kept my centre console and door cards as I like to have a bit of storage space for odds and sods still...
Heres a couple of pics of the rear of mine:

I love the cut down door cards, they look awesome.
Does anyone know whose s14a this is in the pictures ? (not matts the white one)
I've got a couple of questions for him :)
Wow, that white one is awesome! The cut down door cards look very tidy indeed.
Im going to start stripping mine soon. What are people using to remove the sound deadening?
Im thinking of trying to find some dry ice? I want to repaint the inside too. You did yours in battleship grey Matt?
Loving the white one too.
Dry ice or heat, its a nasty job.
I want to know what that chap did with all the frickin wiring thats behind the door cards because that looks EXTREMELY neat.

Anyone worked out how much weight the sound deadening adds? Thinking of doing it this summer as i missed the chance in winter which wouldve made it easier :(
I used Hammerite (Smooth finish)
i cant remember where the pics are from...i think i robbed them off a link on driftworks ages ago...sorry.

Do it Tomorrow morning, it will be cold and the deadening is very brittle when cold :)
Thats what I'm doing anyhow

Dry ice broken up spread across the sound deadening, a hammer to smash it, and a chisel to scrape off any excess.
If you're going to daily drive your car I wouldn't recommend taking it off. It doesn't weigh that much and makes your car a lot louder. You hear all the little rocks and even rain splashing against your floor.
Personally i don't see why anyone would want to strip the car out unless it was a track car. Its nice to have carpet and creature comforts :wack:
because mines a track car :wack:
Mine gets driven about 4 times a month, so I want it to be as loud, stiff and impractical as possible :D

Wow, now that is a hell of an inspiration for me.
As with pretty much everyone else, I'm loving the touches on the white one, but particularly the centre console panel, that's housing all the gauges etc. - I neet to know where to get something like that, it's so neat and tidy looking.
By the sounds of it the sound deadening is a pig of a job??
Just a quick novice-like question, but what's the thing under the rear seats, in between where the two rear seat midgets would sit??
Matt S, is there any reason why you kept the rear quarter trim panels that sit around the windows? and the parcel shelf?
I'm on strip-out mission now!:D
Think you mean the Transmission tunnel? Where its raised in the middle?

Yeah, The black box like thing that sits under the rear seats, inbetween the rear occupants, on top of the transmission tunnel.
Apologies for my attempt at humour then:wack:

Matt's not on here much atm. Pretty sure he re-wired to go through the roof
EDIT: taken from his for sale thread...
"ALL redundant wires to rear (diff pump, ABS, Airbag, wiper, alarm sensors) all removed. No wires IN car - all wires now in A pillar, roof and C pillar"

Cheers drifter.
Not sure i fancy that would take me far too long.
Cable tidy it is
Hi :)
Im not on here at all now, so just found this thread by chance :)
Yeh, I stripped the loom apart and removed ALL the redundant wires that were no longer in use. There were a LOT!
THen extended/cut n shut the ones that ran across the car to enable me to run them in the headlining :)
Its a lot tidier ;)
Didnt take too long tbh. A couple of evenings maybe. When it wouldnt start I got really worried.
THen realised the ECU that was sat on the bench may need to be plugged in :wack:
Started first time and all worked as Nissan intended (well, bar the removed circuits ;) ) LOL :D

I kept the headlinign so I needed the side panels to keep that up. And hide the wires that came along the C pillar :wack:
THe parcel shelf was put back in cos with a white car the sun used to reflect off the paint and enable rear vision useless :wack:
THe parcell shelf didnt reflect - just the strut bar. But it was bearable :)
