Good point... What pipe is it?
Feels way too light to be SS and doesn’t make the same sound when I tap it. Its the hanger above so has no real heat on it but its for an Apexi GT Titanium.
Cheers Stevey, I will probably take you up on the offer (I make that 2 bottles of something alcoholic I owe you now) :)
doesnt the name titanium mean its made from titanium ?
Dont think the bracket is as that would be taking it a bit too far ...but you never know. Not sure if there is an easy test to see.
If its Ti I would have thought it would be a bit stronger as well. If anyone can tell me how I can find out it would be appreciated
looking at the heat transfer on the welds id say its defo not Ali, imho!
i think you will find that its mabe the the back box that is Ti, goin by the color/texture of it, loks a matte dull silver, jsut like Ti.
so the hanger might be Ti too, SS melts at about 1363 cel and Ti at 1795 cel.
It is bllody light (thats why I though ally) should I just take it to a decent engeneering place and see what they say? At a guess I would think there arnt many paces that can weld Ti (if thats what it is)
anyone with a tig welder can weld Ti.
as i said if its stainless i can do it, if you buy some wire, i ran out of SS stuff.
