Looks a bit like a dump pipe with a seperate pipe for an internal wastegate. Anyone confirm this?

You are correct. The one on the right is called a screamer pipe. Watch this space.;)

You can get T25 style hot housings for the T3 etc, but they have a flat back with 2 holes, one for wastegate and a main exhaust.

My guess is that it's for that, I like the idea of dumping to air!!! Grrrrrr. :)

Somewhere I shall find a picture, turbonetics do them.

Seen the one on the left on an Impreza, not the one on the right though. I think std the smaller pipe is just blocked, but fit a free flow zorst and you get the pipe on the left :)

The one on the right...

dumps the exhaust gasses to air rather then through the exhaust when the wastegate opens.

Hence screamer pipe.

In Japan they call it a wastegater, much like a wastegate, did you find them for sale somewhere? I would love to get my hands on one, then get it in my car, I am sure it would scare the hell out of the non-driving Italians around here.

It makes your car sound like a truck... seriously. Turbo gets very loud and whirrs like mad. The exhaust also gets very loud.
