Is there anything I can do to a Silvia S12 with an FJ20 engine?

Such as put a turbo on it... Is the bottom end the same as an S14 or anything?

Anyone know anything about this engine at all?

Help!!

Rich.

In it's turbo form (not available over here) it's a formidable lump, far better than SR20 and is prolly capable of 400+bhp with std internals. 256deg cams as std, strong rods etc, nice head.

Not sure is the non tubby version has the same head/cams but you'll need to change the pistons to get the full benefit from adding a turbo.

From what I've heard the standard FJ20ET crank is good for 700bhp!

So, the question is... What are the differences between the FJ20E and the FJ20ET ? Is it just the fact that the FJ20ET has a turbo charger? Or are the pistons/head different too?

Where would I connect the water/oil pipes for the turbo if I fitted one to the FJ20E ?

:S

pistons will almost certainly be different.
the oil and water 'should' be there on the block. you migth have to weld in a oil return to the sump.
Water isn't that necessary, a lot of turbos aren't water cooled, but these too should be on the block as the block will be common.

you reckon they will be there but bunged off with some kind of threaded bolt?

so in theory all i need to do is change the pistons and away i go.....

oh wonder where i get a manifold from that will take a turbo.... might be the same as the S13 1.8turbo manifold?
