lol:D dont thing the misses would appretiate it.

Im going for a 40% methanol 60% water and injecting it after the intercooler with the aquamist system I got of bren.

just need to get down the rollers and get setup, at last

Cool, I was thinking you were gonna use it as some sort of mad fuel addititive.

Is that a fully mappable system then? Whats the crack? does it only spray after a certain amount of boost or can you adjust it? Sorry to be so nosy but it sounds cool!

inject it after the IC?
Do you mean into the cold air stream (sorry if that sounds a bit fick)?

Hmmm sounds interesting... I think Big S would like to play...

Luke, you get 3 jet sizes with it .5 .6 .7 depends on your setup as to which you use. You get a pressure switch that Im going to T into the boost guage pipe that comes set at 10psi but is adjustable to what you want, Im thinking about 13psi. Might be tempted to slip a bit in the fuel as well though ;)

Starionman,
Yeah you screw it into the pipe straight after the IC so a fine vapour mixes with the air, this does a few things but mainly drop's the temp in the cylinders stopping detting and alowing more boost, if you need more info have a look at www.aquamist.co.uk and take a gander at the faq's as there is some pretty good info. You dont have to run methanol but I like the idea beefing up the whole kaboodal

the company I got the methanol from also do race fuels and the such if anyone is intrested, and they deliver to your door. anyone for 120ron fuel or 106 ron with 2.7% oxygen :D have a look here R76 (http://www.nutidltd.co.uk)

I might have dreamt it but did i read somewhere that people were wiring the washertank up to the pump, to save space on a reservoir. but more importantly, were using washer additive mix as it contains methanol or soemthing. Bizarre.

Yep there both true, you can use normal screen wash which comtains methanol and the reason some people use the washer bottle is that some manufacturers have a low level warning hooked up to them.

The reason Im useing the good stuff is that screen wash additive contains detergents and such like which Im not to happy to blow into the engine, Im also filtering all the water as it's quite hard around here and I want to keep the nozzle a clear as possible. I dont fancy having to put a kalgon tablet in the tank everytime I fill up. ;)

Nat, do you have an EGT gauge? It'll be interesting to see what kind of difference it makes...

I dont mate, it's on my wish list but oil pressure is next. If I get a chance to tap the manifold I'll get one and do some test's. failing that we could stick paul under the bonnet with a thermometer ;)

I've also got an Aquamist system which I haven't fitted yet. Can I ask mate - how hard was it to buy the methanol? Did they give you the 3rd degree when you went to buy it?? Also what sort of money is it - £/litre??

Cheers.

What sort of cost would you be looking at for a system and how much work is it to link all the bottles up etc?
What kind of performance benefits are you looking at do you think?

Very easy to buy, you just do it over the web and thats it. they only sell either 25 litres or a barrel of 208 litres, it's 41.12 for the 25 litres but delivery for hazardouse substances pushes the price upto 60 quid(still not bad though) 208 litres is £205 so not realy worth considering.

Starion man, it's a doddle to fit. I think I can do it in around an hour. plus Im going to add a blue LED that activates when the aquamist kick's in. as for performance benifits, well more boost with no detonation, cooler charge temps etc etc.

Aquamist from bren
methanol from R76 (http://www.nutidltd.co.uk) as stated at the end of my 3rd message ;):D

I've sent them an email to see if they are intrested in a club discount scheme as they do a fair bit of other stuff including racing brake fluid which would be good for the track day guys.
I await there answer
