Auto box started slipping then the head gasket went then the water pump went and now I have the rattle of death:annoyed: :annoyed: :annoyed:

auto box slipping so badly i was unable to get past my wife in her 206 1.4 when drag racing her away from the lights:wack:

bloody car it was pulling so well after doing the water pump and getting the timing belt right:smash:

started on the body work so at least I can make it to the next cheltenham meet before i SORN it and start replacing the gearbox and bottom end

talk to barry dart ref the gearbox, and ask him about the mod we discussed at jae, involving something from the states.

cheers jibber i know the bit you are on about but i believe it is quite pricey so will wait for ramps to finish his manual conversion, i dont intend to go up in power much more so it should be fine

I've been through a spell (or a few spells :wack: ) when everything seems to go wrong at the same time - the S14 is the third cheap ebay run-around I've had to buy when I've had an S13 off the road

On my 1st, the gearbox went at Trax, then the big ends went the next day. It was off the road for a few months then, so I could rebuild the engine, fit the new gearbox, spray the engine bay, etc, etc. When it was finished i was really pleased with it, but the mot was due and when I took it in, I found out the chassis was only fit for the scrapyard

That was the closest I've been to giving up, but I got the red one on ebay for £100, swapped everything across and since then (most of the time) I've been glad I stuck with it.

so will wait for ramps to finish his manual conversion,

Sorry for the delay - I had hoped to have it done by now :(

The mot ran out on the S14 last weekend so I thought i'd check it out before I took it in. After a few taps and prods on the 1st sill I had this

I've been working on it for a week now, and I haven't even looked at the other side yet :(

As soon as it's done and its through the mot, I'll start on the S13

Thanks Chris if I get to the point where I am ready for it I will give him a shout, Ramps lives just 10 minutes drive away so its more likely I would wait for his.
