Buffy comes through - again.

Spent yesterday with Mike fitting my new dump pipe and downpipe, new 'box valve body and front brakes. In order to fit the dump pipe and downpipe a lot of cutting and welding was needed in order to get it to fit and match up with the existing system.:wack: So after 7:annoyed: hours it was done. Next we turned our attention to the front brakes. After much trial and error we discovered that the caliper mounting bolt heads fouled the disc so put the original discs and calipers back on pending a return trip to Stealth this afternoon where we will try again with new bolts - it was too late to get them last night. So, finally we turned our attention to the gearbox and valve body. With much ATF over the floor, up Mike's sleeve and in buckets the valve body was swapped over. Evantually finishing by bolting everything up, filling with new fluid and a quick test on the ramp I eventually left to come home around 11pm. Got in around midnight and the difference in the gear change quality is immense, very crisp - to the extent of being almost painful - and no slippage on the change.

TBH I don't think that Mike wants to do another one.:wack: Even though my oil pan had a drain plug - which is very unusual - there was just too much oil swilling around/ 7+ lts.:wack:

Brakes were sorted today. Very noisy to start with - EBC and their disc conditioning surface on the pads:smash: - but by the time I had driven back along the A465 home, they had quietened down somewhat. One thing that I have found with the gearbox is that the 1-2 change can be quite head jerking - like dumping the clutch with revs on.:wack:

Just leaves the radiator and extra transmission oil cooler to fit and all the other little bits and bobs.

first and only problem with this clutch...(trying to put over 630 hp to the floor is it any wonder :rolleyes: )

PMSL. Thanks Tone. As the box should now be capable of supporting 600+ bhp I think that it will be more than suitable for around 350.
