Got my stage 2 bits fitted and my boost controller is holding 1.23 bar all the way to the redline and the car loves it! i wasnt sure if the standard turbo would hold this boost higher up the revs but it does no problem.

after playing around with it the car seems happy with timing at 16-17deg no pinking/knocking at all.

the car is awesome now.

Thanks again.:)

Cool :)

I'd recommend setting the timing a bit lower and the boost should never go over 1.2 bar. But if you're 100% sure its not detting you should be ok.

Glad you're pleased

Ah so you got your 555 before me!

Come on Vroom, give us a bit more of a discription of what stage 2 feels like as opposed to stage one.

Is it better, alot better or is it a case of why did i not do this sooner, its so great?

What does the turbo sound like at 1.2 bar, i would say mine screams at 0.8 - surely it must sound manic at 1.2.

I want stage two just waiting on my injectors to arrive...........

Hey,

i never had the stage 1 chip i was running standard ecu and injectors with all the other mods....the car was quick but with 255 eagle f1 tyres on the rear it had loads of grip and wouldnt break traction very easily and i found it struggled further up the revs.

but now with stage 2 chip and 555's and 1.2 bar the car feels twice as quick it now lights up the rear tyres in the dry as if it were wet:eek:

the turbo sounds good i was at 1 bar before but the extra 0.2 makes a huge difference the car just pulls and pulls all the way to the red line effortlessly.

i also found that if i am going to overtake someone in third gear i cant give it full throttle like i used to coz it will spin the wheels.

on sunday it was very wet here and i managed to spin the rear wheels at 100mph in fourth just as the turbo hit full boost:eek:

so im gona have to change my driving style slightly.

its a completely different car now AWESOME.

There is something wrong with your alignment or another problem if you are spinning your rear wheels in 3rd in the dry on the straight if you have 255 F1rear tyres.

I have had 255 Goodyear F1's on for Stage 1, 2 and 3a. Even at 50bhp and a lot more torque than stage 2 it will not spin them in 3rd in the dry. They even grip well in second, so you're either driving on poorly surfaced roads or have a problem. My car felt loads better after having proper alignment done. Either way something is not right.

Have to agree with Scottie. This might help:

Standard tyre size and make, and 1 bar, would spin in wet in third, try to spin in second ind dry.

205 F1s, spin in 2nd in wet only

Allignment done, 255 452s fitted, spins in first in wet, tries to a tad in 2nd, not much unless greasy. Grip all other times.
