i know mad aint it,
exp considering his paying £30/pm!
best thing is thou, he uses direct connect,
and the hubs his using you have to have
a min conn of 10mbit just to get in!
but once in u have access to all the latest
chit ..even before they appear on sites
like www.vcdquality.com or isonews.com,
I managed to blag unreal2 off him last nite:O)
that aint even rel here till 7 of feb!
but when he d/l city of gods from the dc hub for me,
I had to laugh, he d/l both cds whilst we were chatting
online, like it was nothing, it will be a few years
yet before the average home user will get a 10mbit
conn at such a low price over ere thats for sure.

6 years ago, Telewest were piloting 10-20 Meg Cable modems.

jezz i very much doubt that rumour
as ntl,s 1meg conn costs £35 p/m at the mo,
if they were to bring out a 5meg conn @£35
it would mean scrapping there 600k conn
and replacing it with there 1meg conn at the same
price....i just cant c it happening at the mo, unfortunately,
if they do come out with a 5meg conn i can imagine
it being @£50-£60 p/m.
in time we,ll all have a decent conn at a good price,
rem adsl was £40 p/m not long ago,
nowadays u can get it for under £20 p/m.
right now thou I,d be well happy with a just a 2meg conn!
512 just dont cut it..hehe

They better not, thats who i'm with
Get about 200 with bt adsl.
why is it so crappy?
(I am pc illiterate (sp?) :) )
Is there anything in xp I can do to improve it?
Yeah change providers mate!
Check www.adslguide.org.uk and choose the compare option. Tick BT and then tick some others.
Cry when you see BT right at the bottom of all the graphs :(

Me too a bit, well more I'll believe it when I see it, but I was told by one of our network/systems support people at work who's son works for them, NTL's big head office/tech centre is in swansea, or one of them. I have no reason to doubt him.
It's apparently tested, but not due for release yet, face it 128 was £30 a month not long ago (2 years), in 12 months time 600 isn't gonna be worth having so 1mb is more than likely going to be the norm. So it's not entirely unfeasible.
:( Still got a year to go yet
