Will a GT28R work with stage 1,2 and 3 map?

As titled really, would a GT28R work with stage 1, 2 and 3 chips?

Or for a stage 3 map would I need a disco potato? (GT28RS)

It'd be fine for stage 1 and 2, but for stage 3 you need a gt28rs and for stage 3a you need a gt2871r
