Tuesday 14th Jan and all is well, "tomorrow", I tell myself after work I'll go Kickboxing with dave_S13 that'll be fun and I'll finally lose some weight. Two weeks later I've lost almost two stone and I am finally back home looking at the friggin giant scar (that's still seeping) that if it had a zip I could open up my entire stomach....nice.

Going to A&E on the wednesday at 5am with a suspect appendix (is that spelt right?) lead straight to Pancreatitus which took 5 consultants to confirm. It was supposed to be keyhole surgery, yeah that'll explain the 45 staples and four drains they plugged into me......well I'm still breathing at least. 2 days in Intensive Care and another 2 in the High Dependancy Unit and then another week without food...it's not a recomended diet but it's done wonders.

Never mind my whinging at least I've got the next 5 weeks off work.

Dave sorry about kickboxing maybe in a few months.

The one thing I have discovered is that when you're ill you discover your good family and your real friends I just don't know how to thank them.

Oh well expensive phones are in my future..... I'm seriously thinkng about Broadband now, 2 days home and I'm boreed of films and my PS2 I only have the internet left.

Christ mate that sounds serious

Could it have seen you off if you'd put off seeing a quack? If so, I think you have your silver lining ;)

Glad you're still with us, hopefully there will be some interesting posts over the next 5 weeks to keep you amused :)

My girlfriend (whom has been through hell) keeps trying to tell me how serious it all is and that if I had put off A&E well these weeks would have been for mourning. It's just hard to take in as from wednesday till the surgery on Thursday they kept me on morphine so I was pretty out of it then I was asleep through ICU my first memory is in the HDU where I was still on morphine and I can tell you that is some whacky stuff I was seeing dancing talking flowers, people walking through walls scenes from several hundred movies all at the same time ...freaky.

roll on anything interesting.

Oooh, doesn't sound good :( Musta been quite scary for you and your family. My sister was in intensive care for a week and it was dead traumatic for the rest of us. Like you, she was on morphine, so I think she remembers barely nothing about it - wonderful stuff really!!

Glad you caught it in time - heal up quickly so you can make the most of the time off work lol. Commiserations on the boredom thing....hope you find something to keep you occupied :)
