Theres a big conspiracy going on with regards to credit - Experian/Equifax + the government....
Anyone used a credit repair service? They have a money back guarantee and all sorts to clear defaults from your name...
I can see it these credit agencies dont want people knowing the law or using the agencies to clear bad past as it shows the credit report system doesnt work at all and they'd be out of business...
Not after oppinions here, but actual first hand from anyone whos cleared their debt past?

These people will get you a report telling your credit situation, it's the report credtors will see about you. I had a look at mine a while back and it's plain scarey what they have on you, they also listed about 10 of the previouse residents of my flat plus all my wifes credit details, all my credit cards past and present for upto 2 years ago. It shows how often you pay your bill's etc.
They will also find credit card companies that will offer you a card even if you have a poor credit rating. get one and even if you dont use it it always looks like you've been paying off credit and your credit score will rise. They even rated the area where I live and the sort of person likely to live there.

A friend of ours tried two different companies a few years back. Both were completely useless and did nothing. It was a complete waste of their time and money.

thats because they cant realy clear your credit record, all you can do is build your rateing up bit by bit
You can ACTUALLY clear the bad ones yourself....
IF you paid the full amount outstanding, no matter how much of an arse you were being, but paid up in full, YOU CAN REQUEST THE REMOVAL OF THAT PAST DEBT FROM YOUR CREDIT RECORD BY CONTACTING THE CREDIT COMPANY WHO LENT YOU THE MONEY AND ASKING THEM TO DO SO - they have to do this by LAW!

Exactly. by EXPERIANS rules you cant clear stuff (they just telly ou to go away), but by forcing the law itself on them they can remove them...

You can write to the credit reference agency and ask for an entry to be removed (If you have valid reasons)
Say for instance a previous resident ran up a bad debt, or the house was previously repossessed, you can have those entries on tha address removed.
yeah my dad had the same kinda thing....... His bank messed up big time and didnt authorise a standing order - of course this caused a black mark against him. He had to write to experian with a letter from the bank clearing him of blame - they removed the mark but he still has some problems with it from time to time
