Product of severe thought:
There is the phrase about being as free as a bird. People look out of their windows and see birds arcing, wheeling, calling to each other across the sky and decide that they are free.
However, I wish to disagree. Birds have to constantly find food. Birds have to constantly keep their nests in order. Birds have to avoid being caught and eaten or blasted out of the sky by some peasent with a gun.
Is this free?
By comparison, we don't have to forage for food. We have homes, warmth, sustinence. We don't have to worry about anything that is needed to keep us going. Even if we lost everything, then there is provision for care of the homeless, the jobless, the hungry. We don't have to struggle to survive.
I think that this is freedom.
And what do we do with our freedom? Fcuk all. We could use our powers to the greater good, our freedom to help, support and enlighten others. But as a race, we don't. We waste our lives fcking about with sh1t that doesn't matter, who's got the better job, the better house, the better car, the better shirt, the better bird.
Hell, even just by using "better" I'm finding another way that we have abused our freedom - freedom of choice and judgement.
We're dying from the inside and can't even see it.
