View Full Version : could this be the first steps in the possibility that Leguna seca will hold a F1 race

i hope so,
Please mazda make sufficient improvements so that F1 can race there, how cool will it be seeing 22 F1 cars piling in to the Cork screw braking from 180mph down to abot 40mph

with Sato right in the middle ?
I doubt it; it would take millions (and millions) of dollars to bring both track safety, pit/team facilities, and spectator facilities upto F1 standard.
It would be more likely there will be no US GP in the future, as Bernie has said he would like to hold more races in the up-and-coming Asian countries (he gets more money;) )
There was also a rumor that F1 might return to the streets of Long Beach, so it might not be the end of F1 in the US:confused:

If Indy can lose the F1 race contract then the future for Silverstone looks very bleak.

i dunno it's hardly comparable. added to that the american'#s don't really get f1 in the same way as some other countries do ( eg italians or the gerries etc) they get bigger turnouts to watch 50 car's go round in an oval ffs

They are not helped by the fact their only representation in the sport is Scott Speed! I heard him say before this years US GP he believes that the US should get like 10 races a year, because thats how many races Europe gets and the US is bigger than Europe so should get more races!!!:annoyed: :ghey: :smash:

The point i was more getting at was that if you don't give Bernie what he wants then you get dropped!
true blue boy
but there will always be a british GP, bernies wouldnt ditch his home GP would he? personally im not sure if silverstone is the right place for it to be, i dont know of any other track what would be able to do it with out £1m's being spent,
i would imagine that having a F1 race in america ia very important due to sponsorship deals etc, so there "will" be one next year, maybe a return to cesars palace car park?
but im sure i heard berine say earlier in the year that IMS has been signed up till 2007, maybe it was preliminary based on certain critiera being forfilled
Cool MotoGP at Indy, that should be interesting.
If F1 Races at Laguna, it will be the same idea as the Nurburg Ring .... they will use a small section of the track and miss out the cork screw.
As Much as would love to see them fly round that .. leterally ... I dont think they will allow it to happen :(

I doubt it will ever happen but it would be good if it did....

I doubt it too, it would be impossible to overtake and the cork screw would be too dangerous for an f1 car.
How does 260m americans make more than 380m Europeans? weird.. Lets see how many kids their hispanic ethnic diaspora can squeeze out, might level the playing field sooner than we think!
I think there should be an F1 in America, absolutely - when they get their act together, they do things very well indeed, and I for one would be happy to go.
the problem with the indy gp, is the track. it's not good for f1 cars.
silverstone is.
the only other circuits that could hold the british gp would be brands or donnington. and they would need huge amounts of track, grounds and support investment. and it would ruin the viewing at both tracks.

word - silverstone is just the best - to get to, the area, the facilities, everything.. its also one of those few places where its a genuine high speed track without being an oval...
