My mate has just bought an E reg cossie for £600!!! It has 17" wheels, Cream leather interior, Lowered, full stainless exhaust, Painted in a nice flip flop colour, dump valve and boost gauge. The only thing wrong with it is there is a dent it the wing, A cracked side skirt and a bit of piston slap when its cold. Why can I get one for that price!!
As it needs a complete bottom end rebuild, dont think you would want one for that price :D :D :D :D :p

£400 to do bottom end him self, He works for a local engine refurb company
Thats not using genuine parts then as Mahle pistons are about £250 each for the cossie.
Sounds like a complete bargin to me. You'll struggle to get one for under £4K. Nice one.

For £600 you can just have some fun for a couple of months then ditch it!
You could deffo sell a cossie for around £3K, and it's never going to cost £2,400 to fix it up. Even if he just wants to sell it for profit (god forbid - keep the cossie!), its a great buy!
What was the boy selling thinking, you've got to question his sanity?
Is it a saphire BTW?

It is a saphire. I offered him £1200 for it and he said no way
Id swap my 200, a lung and a kidney for one.

Did he HPI check it? If its actually a genuine cossie shell (which I seriously doubt for £600) then it really is a bargain...
The sapps are not special shells, they are just Ghias. The 3Dr was the only real cossie, the sapp was just a quick Ghia :D
But they have a cossie chassis number though, saves you buying a saph which some plonker has swapped lumps in. Unless its a ringer of course. :D even so, its 600 notes worth of fun, bargains pop up from time to time.. :) good luck to 'im
Mahle pistons are £350 a set including rings, and that trade price. If you mate can get them at £200 a set then Ill take 10 sets tommorrow, give him my number and he can earn himself some cash.
As the others say for £600 I would expect it to have a normal Sapp shell and ID. The shells are the same as the normal Sapphire but they ID certainly isnt. A Cossy rebuilt in a a non Cossy shell is worth half that of a similar condition genuine Cossy.
There are plenty of wrecker Cossys kicking about for under £2k but then itll cost you £4k to put them right as they cost so much in parts!!
