View Full Version : Computer Stuff...
I can get loads of computer stuff real cheap, i have same supplier(s) as www.cambridge-computers.com
thing is i need customers.
if i can see a demand for enough computer bits and bobs (hopefully more of complete computers) then i will start it as vat registered and LTD'd with a company bank account.
thoughts appreciated

www.ebuyer.com seem cheaper than them m8.
I build PC's as a sideline, there's no money in it though, just enough for a bit of beer money.
Its a case of the market being saturated with suppliers, you can get a PC's or parts from millions of places. Ebuyer is the cheapest , they just have w@nk customer service.
Good luck though.
exactly, what i mean is i will do stuff cheaper than cambridge-computers thing is trying to be cheaper than places like ebuyer is the hardest thing

People always want computers. And once you got one you need it replaced/upgraded every few years at least. I looked into teaching myself how to build computers but all the BIOS settings and the like kinda scared me!   Christ, if your competing with the likes of TIME, and PC World then you'll be flying before long. I say go for it. And Word-of-mouth advertising is the best way, so get a few friends to hand out business cards and you'll be away. When i move out i'll be wanting a PC but i'll look toward someone like yourself for it.

Nope, no money in building PC's, used to flog quite a few several years back, but now just do a little on the side for petrol money!!
Its not worth the effort when people like dell are pushing PC's out the door at silly prices, People dont care for fast boards or hard drives, but just look at the price, and I HATE cheap $hitty PC's and wouldnt make em!!!
You can build a PC cheap enough, but to get licences for the operating system and and something like MS works, then the price goes too close to mainstream :)
but saying that, how much can you get hold of a Gforce4 Ti4400 agp8 with 128 mb DDR??? :)

Your right the software is the thing that hikes your price up nearer the high street prices and Mr Joe Public will feel much safer giving his money to a known brand.
Thats why my PC's are sold manly to friends of friends etc and all the software is for evaluation purposes only (ahem).

If you can sell stuff cheaper than Ebuyer then I'll buy it off you instead.
64MB DDR PROLINK GF4 TI4200 TV Out_________91 +vat
128MB DDR PROLINK GF4 TI4200 + VIVO TV Out __112+vat
128MB DDR MSI GF4 TI4200 VIVO /TV OUT _______124.9+ vat
128MB DDR MSI GF4 TI4800SE VIVO/TV OUT ______154.9 +vat
128MB DDR ATI RADEON 9700 TV OUT___________219.9 + vat
and a few £'s more off if 10 of are ordered.
they are the 8x agp cards i can get hold of from one of my suppliers the other one does not have as good stuff but is cheaper (jetway etc)
i recon i can knock off around £50 off of most of cambridge computers systems and make enough money back to make it worth while
The ti4400 dont come in 8x agp flavour!
If you can beat this company's prices, the company I work for would like to get to know you better.
Ebuyer are cheaper than them
Looking at the retail prices, yes they are, but we get a discount from TLM, which actually makes them cheaper than eBuyer!
i can match probably all of their prices, beat quite a few. But there might be the odd one i can't even match, however unless enough quantity is brought then i could very well match if not beat their prices.
let me know the sort of things you'd usually buy form them and at what price and i'll see what i can do e.g. 3 x net-intro1's (or whatever they call them) and 3 tft monitors keyboards and mice
etc
What also might be a good factor for businesses, is if i do go ahead, full hog as VAT Registered and LTD'd then i *might* be able to set up a Lease Purchase scheme for businesses. This is only if i can get enough interest tho to start it up as a fully blown company.
We would be VERY interested in lease purchase as a lot of our clients are reluctant to spend in excess of 10k with us in one go. They do eventually, but some would much prefer leasing I feel.
