piman2k
09-07-2007, 15:44
**** me that looks awesome. What's the estimated retail cost, still around £79?

And, you knew it was coming, is it available with red silicone :wack:

bren
09-07-2007, 15:50
Around £79, it depends on our final costings and if we can squeeze them by boat, that will bring the price down a chunk.

We have a large silicon hose order due the end of this week. if it comes through without a problem then Im going to order in a large batch of silcon hoses in various colours to suit all of our kits :)

The only thing Ill not be able to do is swap colours here as all the pipe kits come through as just that, complete kits with blue silicon. If we start swapping hoses round it will become a logistical nightmare as we dont have systems sophisticated enough to allow our staff to keep on top of the changes :(

piman2k
09-07-2007, 15:53
I think my red intercooler and hotpipe silicone will probably be on that shipment :D Yay!!!!

I can appreciate you not being able to swap it. I will just have to buy it, measure it, sell my turbofit kit and get some more to suit :D I live for shine :D

blue boy
09-07-2007, 16:32
possible group buy? I could see many on here wanting:nod:

These look 100 times better than the ones that were done before by turbofit. Still have mine sitting in the garage as it was totally the wrong angle to get it to sit right with my Apex filter and shielding.

Any ideas on the movement they will allow ?
Obviously due to engine movemnt and a solid mounted AFm/ filter arrangement :D

Pics of the latest pipe fitted. It went on fine but could do with a slight tweak to its length and also to the silicon joining pipe to afm as the afm outlet isnt actually 60mm as I thought, its a little larger. It all goes together though :)

Looks good. Does the AFM sit in the exact same place so that if you had the air filter heat shield it would not foul?

jontruman
10-07-2007, 16:07
lovely sign me up,

bren the larger connection on the pipe whats that for because mines blocked off on the standard. will you be doing anywithout that peice?

bren
10-07-2007, 16:41
Because the test cars running an Apex filter we had a little leaway with where the filter sits in relation to the pipe. The pipe is a little long so pushes the filter towards the back of the headlight a little. Ill get that addressed with the next prototype but I couldnt say how these will fit with an airbox at the moment. Ill have to fit one, Ill do that next time round :)

We wont do take off variations with each generations of pipe (i.e. standard afm, Z32 afm etc) as I have to order 100 kits at a go and I cant carry kits to cover all peoples possible needs Im afraid

We can supply bungs suitable for the take offs if necessary though :)

It least it has a nipple built into it, so people can use that take off and plumb in there EBC, instead of on the other side of the engine bay like most FMIC kits.

Does that make sense? :)

bren
10-07-2007, 18:09
We dont have abatch on order, Im just testing the prototype and seeing if theres interest first. Ill fire over the alterations now and will get another sample made asap :)

You cant take the boost control feed from the afm to turbo pipe, its not pressurised so youll run silly boost all the time.

Halberstram
10-07-2007, 21:16
Do you think there is any performance gain at all from replacing black plastic and rubber pipes for metal?

Will this fit with FMIC type 1 installed?

Some people say that the elephants trunk can collapse in on itself on boost. But the best thing is it looks good in the engine bay and if running the pidgeon mod then it becomes more pronounced.

bren
11-07-2007, 10:17
I dont think youll gain any performance, its just a bling thing :)

piman2k
11-07-2007, 12:24
You said you'd be buying in red silicone for all your kits at a later date, would that mean these as well. SO I could buy one of these with blue, and then buy red stuff from you at a later date?

bren
11-07-2007, 12:55
Yep  If I get organised enough then Ill try to order in kits of various colours but its difficult as our stainless guys carry lots of stock of blue hoses for us and just pick what they need from stock. To order in red makes their life more difficult. Ill see what I can do for the futute but all current bling orders will come with blue hoses.

Stainless steel should flow better as it would have a better roughness coefficient:nod: .......well that's my theory anyway:D

Muttly
21-08-2007, 14:18
The Z32 type will also run without AFM :)But it'll be too short to fit in the airbox won't it, unless I put a big bit of silicon hose on it. I was hoping to avoid that.

bren
21-08-2007, 18:53
As you say it will run short of the air box. If theres demand then I might do a third pipe to extend the filatre back into the corner behind the head light. Remember that youll need a different type of filter to run with the AMFless system, an Apexi etc wont fit unless you find an adapter plate.

Around £79 for the kit.

We have 15 of the Z32 AFM kits on their way and due in 2 weeks. The remainder of the batch will be here in 2 months.

Im just chasing the standard AFM kits now as Ive had 100 of them on order for a while, they should be ready.

I have a batch of the Z32 kits here now, Ill get pics in a bit. The manufacturers have included one hose clamp thats too small so Im going to have to get some more airfreighted through. The clamp fits on the silicon hose but the hose is streached slightly when onthe pipe and the clamp wont accomodate that extra diameter.

£79 for the intake kit to fit standard AFM. We have some on their way by air and more by boat. The air shipment is due late next week, early the following week :)

I wasnt happy with the quality of the last batch of induction boxes so Ive sent the manufacturer back to the drawing board to get the quality back up to the required standard.
