Mercedes - owned by who?

Was just having a disagreement with my 'other half':mad:

Can anyone confirm who Mercedes are actually owned by? i.e. GM.,Audi, VW etc, etc :confused:

Original company called Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft. Off-shoot was Mercedes and then became know as Mercedes-Benz.

Parent company was Daimler-Benz which merged with Chrysler, so I guess its DaimlerChrylser.
