Im looking to upgrade my s13 silvia to a sr20det, it currently has the sr20de (non vvt) engine in it.

Il probably be using the loom/ecu/engine out of a s14 but I can only find the swap guide for a s13 ca18det to sr20det, So for starters does anyone know whats involved when splicing the 2 looms together?

Can I use the stater motor ,alternator, pas pump and gearbox off my sr20de?

What other parts will i need for the swap??

i think you could just fit a turbo and manifold/elbow/downpipe from an s14. When Steve Carter looked at Rude Dogs NA silvia all the feeds where there just blocked off, so you'd just need oil and water feeds and jobs a goodun. plenty of turbos DE motors that I've heard of, you'd need to get it mapped but cheaper than an engine change :)

I've got a big hole on the side of my block..lol and cant seem to find a replacement sr20de engine so thats why im going down the sr20det route.

When I looked at an S14 DE the 'feeds' arent in the same place Danny. I dont think they were feeds tbh.

in that case my suggestion is useless to you :wack:

only going by what i was told of the S13 DE from when Steve had a look to see if the conversion would be easy

Wiring wise, I reckon it's going to be very similar to the CA18 - SR20 conversion.
I reckon the SR20DE will have the same 3 plugs on it - F8, F9 and F3 (to connect the ECU loom to the rest of the car) that the CA18DET does (as they're almost plug and play engine swaps) so you should be able to cut them off and graft them onto an S14 loom (just like in the guide).

If not, get a CA18 ECU loom off a breaker and butcher that.

Yeah the feeds on S13's are in different places to S14's. The water feed to my turbo comes from round the back of the engine not the cast elbow to the rad.

erm...maybe abit of a stupid question but what do you mean by the "feeds?

why would i butcher a ca18 ecu loom when im guna go for the sr20det engine??

This was an S14 DE block I was talkign about. The 'blank' that we thought was a feed, is also a blank on the DET block....

If you didn't want to butcher your old SR20de loom or for some strange reason it doesn't have the 3 plugs you're going to need for the S14 SR into S13 conversion. You shouldn't need to, to be honest - look at the conversion guide, then look at your SR20DE loom and see if you can see the connectors I described in the guide.
