Don't get me wrong but I used to hate rap... but I am really starting to like the little ****. He was amazing in 8 mile. Probably the best performance i've seen in a long time.

My 18 year old step-son got me into Eminem, Marilyn Manson, Linkin Park and Sum 41.
I actually really like Mr Mathers' music and lyrics my favourite is still "Criminal" followed closely by "Amityville" and "The Kids". the only prob with him is that he doesn't seem to realise that nowadays you dont start being old cos you turn 35.
Marily Manson cracks me up big time, he is soooo funny.

Eminem is a genius. And people that brush him off are the ignorant ones.
He has come through as possibly the most succesful rapper ever - and is white, to boot. He continually manages to pull stunts that, rightly or wrongly, put him in the spotlight, sell his records, and spreads the Mathers word. He is already rich beyond anyone's wildest dreams and is one of the most consistent artists around. To top that, he has just pulled off an awesome performance in his own film, which is already causing Oscars vibes. He has his own record label. And thats before you even listen to his music. The way he warps sentences to rhyme perfectly is a talent akin to any other top songwriter - past or present.
Love him or loathe him - he's a goddam genius.
I can't stand the bloke...:D
He certianly knows what he is doing. I like his music too :)

Oh and..
TENACIOUS D ROCK!!!!!!
They'd kick mnmesmns @rse any day of the week.
What makes me laugh is the pure autobiograhpical side to his songs...
and somehow he comes over as a loving father ???
Saw him on MTV about 3 years ago, total cocksuker
B0llocks. He's a damn good artist, who realises the value of "any publicity is good publicity". Acting outrageously just gets him in the papers, that's all. (But then if you read the Daily Mail, you deserve to be taken for a ride, f*cking intellectually bankrupt hate rag that it is. I digress :) ) The only immoral side to Eminem is that he's profiting off many people who do actually take him seriously, and do think that he means what he says, and so therefore he's adding to the growing tendency to violence that pervades the rap/hip-hop culture.
Of course he writes nasty songs about people, but he probably doesn't really mean a lot of it. How many times have some of us said thought or something in a rage that's just as bad as lots of the stuff he comes out with? "I'm gonna f*cking kill him", "I wanna strangle the bitch", or stuff much worse? The only difference is that he has the ability to turn his bad thoughts & moods into fantastically-written rants, and then (and this is the BIG difference) he publishes them onto multi-million selling albums. We just go and punch the back door! And when you've got out of your rage, you don't still really want to kill that mate who f*cked you off, and you probably never did in the first place.
I'm not racist, or sexist, or homophobic, but I still laugh like a drain when South Park is. Similarly, I take Eminem with a pinch of salt, and a dose of common sense, and enjoy the entertainment that he provides.

A clever man... who writes annoyingly catchy tunes... hes got too much cash, and id like to not like the git because of how he sings... :)
but i think hes quite cool... do like his current single... just makes you want to drive faster :D not good when your a) on tiny twisty little back roads, or b) already well into 3 figures on my local private road... :D

eminem is a genius :)
ive been into rap and hip-hop for a few years and i would say he is one of the best rappers ever, certainy up there with the greats.
I love his battle raps (anyone who has heard "Quitter" knows what i mean) and his style.
He may well be a total @rse when in interviews and stuff but hey, i dont listen to the interviews anyway.
might go see 8 Mile tonight :D
Yep, everyone who hasn't, go and see 8 Mile, it's the exception to the rule when it comes to music stars trying to make movies, Eminem can act.
And "Lose Yourself" is one of his best singles for ages IMO.
Matty> if you like his battle raps, go and see it, he does a lot of battling and the one at the end is just class :D
By the way everyone, I hated rap a few years ago too...

used to like him gone off his stuff lately, seen him live a couple of years ago and was well dissapointed.
The High and Mighty supported him though and made it a good night, if you like hip hop you should like them, if you were into hip hop from the days of breakdance the movie and beat street you'll enjoy them. They sound familar but original. I think a couple of them have been around for years but cant figure out where from.
Eminem is very talented but nothing for me! Been into Metal since i was 12! Besides the s14a looks more Heavy Metal than Rap(pimpmobile) :)
