Right IT People Need some inspiration pls

@ work we're running Arcserve 2000 and an SBS2000 server.

i have reconfigured the jobs the other day and now its not recognising the database engine for it. got message saying to make sure the database engine is running. check it, and its running. so i figure ok i'll give it a restart, and the bloody database engine won't start up again now and its really pi555ing me off.

i have restarted the entire server as well, to no avail.

please help!!

thats the only thing that is neerly related i just tried to start the engine and it hasn't created any log in the event viewer.

but as a side effect it ties up and times out sql server, which intern locks users using goldmine thats running on sql server

Try installing Backup Exec ;) Arc serve is sh!te

On a serious note, what alterations did you make? When you reversed the alterations, did it start working properly?

only changes i made were:

from

dailey incremental full backup on friday

to

incremental mon thurs as one job
full backup on friday as 2nd job ( filling up compressed 20/40 dds tapes on full backup so have to be selective to what we backup)
