View Full Version : Tyre fitting near cribbs anyone?
Anyone know somewhere I can get some tyres fitted and balanced. My local place won't touch them as I've got the tyres already :(
It's not possible to fit tyres yourself is it :wack:
mike knight tyres on southmead road fitted some I took along once, just asked for the tyres to be swapped over and they said "no problem" iirc think I paid £13 for 2 tyres swapped, balanced and disposal of the old ones:) ,you will have to mingle with southmead folk for a few minutes though:D
I live close to southmead so I think I can hack that :smash: :D
your a bit further along in the posh bit though;)
lol, you don't have an address/phone number do you? Can't find them on the net and wanna see if they're open before I try and fit all the crap into the car

I'll have a look for an old reciept or something now:thumbs:
can't seem to find anything sorry:( , they are open on saturdays and it's easy to get to,just keep going along southmead road and it's on the left:)(big mike knight tyres sign:wack: )
they seem a decent enough bunch:thumbs:
No worries, just found them  £7.50 a tyre for fitting and balancing. Got to find some new valves now though (they can't supply the gay 90° jap valves) - I doubt I should re-use the old ones :smash: jeez, this is a pain in the ass!!
Im planning on reusing the ones i have rob, you can always put stright valves on and get them changed over in the future.
If your determined to get the 90* ones a place that does transit vans with the doble wheel axels at the rear might have something?
Rich
I'm not sure you can use straight ones on the advans  I saw a thread on here that someone said because of the wheel design they need to be 90° or the valves hit the brakes
Had not thought of that, what size brakes you got then rob, is it a 17" wheel?
Either that or use flush fit valves but thats more wedge again:(
Yeah it's a 17" wheel, no idea what size the brakes on the FD are :wack: flush fit valves are £20 for 4 :indiff:
But daemon thieves sell 90° bike valves for £12.32  I believe these fit fine
You naughty boy cutting down on the tyre fitters extortionate profits.
I recon we should all chip in a tenner and get ourselfs an balancing machine for the area.

lol, they still want the best part of £30 to fit them, 15mins work  but they didn't want to take the risk as they said the profit wasn't enough :annoyed: anyhow mike knight tyres seem very helful though
How much is a balancing machine :wack:
500 notes new, maybe cheaper if you can get it second hand.
At those prices it would have paid for itself in 5 years PMSL :wack:
bloody norra its thundery here im scared.
£500, that's quite a lot of money :smash: but I guess 20 people at £20 a pop and it would have paid for itself
My cat's stuck outside :( he's too fcuking scared to cross the open garden to come inside :wack:
Rob, I get all my tyre fitting done down at MC Tyres on Ashley Down Road. Nick is the main man there, and he will see you right. He always takes good care of the rims and usually does them while you wait. 0117 9248068. £5 a corner - say you know the bloke with the blue 200sx :)
Ta for the tip Matt, went to MC tyres and got them done this afternoon  top service, I'll definitely be using them for anything in future :notworthy
Thats great news, will keep them in mind for teh future
Glad you got the rims sorted Rob:thumbs: . I always believe in spreading the word when you get good service. Bit tight getting your car in and out the garage though init :wack:
