Well, as it seems pretty quiet in here and I consider myself to be as much in the East Midlands as much as the West I was wondering if we ought to try and get a semi-regular meet going?

As the area that the "East Midlands" covers is obviously pretty wide I would suggest somewhere around Nottinghamshire / Lincolnshire be best. I know there are a number of people, including myself, that are from Leicestershire and further south but the "West Midlands" meets seem to cater quite well for these people too.

I just wanted to see what people thought and get the ball rolling again as the "suggestions" thread seems a little slow.

Hope I'm not treading on anyones toes here ZX :confused:.

I think half the problem with both "Midlands" areas is that they cover such a wide area and it is quite tough to find a central location to please all.

We are thinking about getting some inter-Mids competitions going on - karting, paintball etc... Would you guys be up for that?

In all honesty, I don't mind driving for a decent meet so where do you guys think is best? I can name somewhere if you like but I'll just be guessing :wack:. There aren't even that many places suggested in the "suggestions" thread, but I'm happy to try the Peacock at Oakerthorpe if you're recommending it.

Still need to decide when is best too :nod:.

peacck is a nice pub, and a big car park, but gets very busy when the weather is good, so that could sort of ruin it as there would be nowhere to park! the owner is preety cool though as there is allways lots of cars and bikes go thursday and he never complains! but i would meet anywhere if its within reason,also if you on about go karting amen corner is good just out of mansfield

peacock is about a mile from me so is fine by me! thursday at the peacock is absoultly rammed of loads of other cars so would be a bit busy! wednesday would be good for me or mabe a sunday afternoon,

Mid-July is aaages away but it isn't going to be much of a meet if only two of us turn up :wack:. I'm definately up for something more regular, possibly once a fortnight? I quite like the Sixhills location, on the A46 there :nod: - think it might be something to do with that bit of dual carriageway. However I was really trying to let the majority decide on their preferred location.

As for the Broughton Astley mini-meet, myself and Paul had crossed words and it never happened again after that :(. I'll have to call him and the others but that location would definately be too "Leicester" for the ones a little further north.

Japshow, not 100% sure which day I'm going yet but I have to drop my GF off at work before I head down so there is no way I'll make your early start time :(.

Maybe an idea would be to try a different location until one's found that suits everybody? I dunno! I just wanna go karting :(

I don't mind driving a fair distance to get to a location. Hell, I did the TEG RR day in Carnforth :wack:

Yeah, I definately want to get something sorted :nod:. If I had to choose one evening weekday that suited me best then it would probably be a Monday but I'm not sure how that fits in with everyone else.

I don't mind organising events either if we're going to get a decent response but obviously if you want the SXOC to subsidise it then we'll need a mod to assist :nod:. I'd certainly be up for karting though :D.

nights can be awkward for me as im never home before atleast 7 and then travelling on top makes it quite hard to get anywhere.

if deffo up for a meet just give me a bit of notice if poss, i should be able to talk mark to come and poss a few other 200's from the area.

im a bit more north than you to be dont mind the travel, time allowing.

like youv both said we just really need to sort something out.

Okay, so evenings aren't great for creativename and as it looks like we're going to need all the help we can get on the numbers front I'm going to suggest a Sunday afternoon / evening meet.

Sunday 15th July, long way away I know, but how is that in people's diaries? I want to try and make the first meet a good one :nod:.

Intention to start at the Peacock in Oakerthorpe from around 1o'clock (maybe get some lunch there if it's not too busy) and then go for a drive to the Ravenshead depending how everyone feels.

Let's try and get this sorted guys :thumbs:, looking for a minimum of 6 people to say it's okay.

At last a positive outcome NEW AREA New Meet will talk to a very good mate of mine who has built a rather nice 200 Mr Spice Weazle and i think its time my old bus came out to play this sounds promising nice to talk :thumbs:

Hi, Sun 15th July is good for me. my car isnt 100% finished (will it ever be) and its no show car and im a little apprehensive about showing it to other enthusiasts as the bodywork aint great and its a DIY job with as much made by me as pos to keep costs down but would be good to get together and meet other owners and thier cars.

Ace, finally it looks like something might be coming together :D.

Danny, the plan was to meet at the Peacock in Oakerthorpe from about 1pm onwards (I'll probably get there a little earlier). I thought if we make it around this time then those that have a little further to travel can always grab some lunch if they want to.

Depending on everyones point of view, and the weather, we could possibly make our way to the Ravenshead (the other pub that had been mentioned) later in the afternoon.

Okay, unless anyone has any final objections / recommendations, I'll post a new thread in the next day or so with all the details :nod:.

ok, i play footy about 3ish most sunday as said aboe, so i might just come to the peacock and then when you all go to ravenshead i may shoot off to footy. it will be nice to meet everyone and see some other 200's!!
